So a while ago my friend and I did a let's play of Illusion of Gaia which lasted about 3 episodes, wherein I postulated a fan theory that Will wasn't actually psychokinetic at all and in fact the whole thing was an elaborate prank. For this to be remotely true you would have to ignore the rest of the game but it wouldn't be a fan theory if it wasn't riddled with horrible obvious plot holes.
So first test is to move the statue with his mind... and magical spinning flute. My original theory was some sort of elaborate magnetic property to his flute (no seriously, as a kid I thought it was magnets) but my friend pointed out the easier possibility of moving this thing on a motor. So pranky friends do what pranky friends do and just time the motor to go off when Will is in place. Maybe Neil invented it or something.
Then there is the famous card scene where Will must pick the Ace of Diamonds.
But how hard would it be to just lay down four of the same card?
Anyways, this is meaningless ramble but it's just something I would bring up. Probably would make a better fanfiction than a post. The Illusion of Gaia, if Will wasn't magical. _________________ Support me on Patreon!

Ooooh, yes! So all of Will's magic powers that he displays at the start of the game, in the cave, are actually just his friends pranking him into thinking he's got magic powers? I LIKE IT!
You could name the story "The Illusion of Will".
But then, how to explain away all the cool powers he is granted during the game? Or maybe they're nothing more than super-cool effects of his weapons as well? (Perhaps he has magical weapons but he himself is just ordinary?) _________________

Maybe the special moves are all planted in his head as being super cool. Freedan and Shadow do all the neat stuff. What are wills super duper special abilities? Slamming into a wall with his body, sliding on the ground and spinning around really fast.
These are the same abilities my toddler has when she's had too much sugar. _________________ Support me on Patreon!
