I can't believe this crap. A NC Supreme Court Justice was pulled over for DUI and the police let her go BECAUSE she was a Supreme Court Justice. They let this drunk woman drive home because they were scared of her authority.

If you have power and influence, the rules don't apply to you.

That's true for the workplace, the government, or the law. They say no one is above the law; that is bullshit.

Well they might not have had a choice in the matter. If a supreme court official got arrested, even with good reason, all officers involved might get laid off from that job forever. No way to win :/

Wow.

Over here in Australia, we had a supreme court judge try to lie his way out of a $70 speeding ticket. He just finished his 2 years in jail.

that justice system needs some serious work. people should be treated by the law in the same way, regardless of how high they are in society or whatever else

::Scratches head:: You're just getting this now? Razz If you got power and money, you can get away with anything. Look at OJ Simpson. Martha Stewart? Hell, Nixon got away with Watergate thanks to a presidential pardon. This kind of crap happens all the time... just mostly it never gets out to the press.

The former mayor of Middletown- where I used to live- was busted for years of taking bribes and whathaveyou. He got off with two years in prison and five years of house arrest... and he lives in a mansion. There are no real good politicians left. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald shot the last one. (Unless you believe that Monroe/Kennedy rumors)

Reagan was good at what he did, though not without controversy.
