|
|
So, something I'd like to propose which I think we've done in the past. We, as a community, should select a game to tackle together and chat about it as we do. Now this doesn't necessarily have to be something in the Soul Blazer Trilogy. I will nominate them outright however as obvious candidates. Here's how this works.
Phase 1: Nominations - We nominate games. Only nominate those you personally can play through. (If a game has already been nominated, you can still nominate it to show support, though a formal vote still happens in Phase 2).
Phase 2: Voting - All nominations are put into a poll and we vote. Only vote for those you can personally play through.
Phase 3: Playthrough - The winning game is played through by us as a community, broken up into benchmark chapters with discussion questions. This is usually done over the course of about a month or so, depending upon the game. We play it on our own time, independently, but as we complete each "chapter" we discuss it on the boards.
So without further ado, I nominate:
Soul Blazer
Illusion of Gaia
Terranigma
and, for some variety:
Zelda: Link's Awakening
Pokemon: Red / Blue
Final Fantasy VII

Interesting concept; I like it.
I have quite a few SNES games that I could theoretically nominate, but:
1) Most of them I have as games for the actual console, which I don't have hooked up to a TV anymore. xD It's packed in a box that I can't get at easily, and there's no real space to set it up anyway.
b) A lot of the games for said console are not RPGs and so have less "play through"-ability I would imagine. xD
iii) this leaves me with very few games on my SNES emulator. xD
So I'll nominate the following:
Robotrek
Act Raiser (the original, not the sequel) _________________

I nominate Torchlight II and Ys Origin. Postal 2 is something I'd do as well. _________________
