Bouddhists and some atheists beleive in reincarnation, or anterior
lives, which come back to memories sometimes to help us think or
to reflect parcels of our personnality or experience.

I've taken this view into consideration when writing Return to Earth.
Will and Kara are normal adolescents living in our epoch, after
800 years of history zipped by the comet. They still have the same
bodies and personnalities, but their memories were erased.

Only things that really mark your life can trigger those memories
and that is exactly what happens in the story.
