IoG:RtE chapter 1: "The Awakening" He was 23 years old now. He had suffered from some kind of amnesia: everything before his 15 years was forgotten, he had never known anything from it. He had lived a normal life, went to school, to work... But his whole existenced lived with questions in his mind, who was he? It was only on the eve of his 17th birthday that he had his first answer, in a strange dream. In his Muse, he had seen the Earth, slowly rotating, but with different continents, and a huge star, resembling the moon, heading towards the planet. The more the star approached the Earth, the more he was aspired into his dream. He saw the inhabitants of the planet, Ancient Ruins and a tower in the center... he also saw a small group of teenagers. A blue- haired girl, holding the hand of a red-haired boy, dressed in green, he saw a younger boy, also with red hair, dressed in white. A man, in shabby beggar-like clothes with a hood, and another young woman, dressed in a pink dress, with black hair. This girl was the most interesting, he felt drawn to her by some awesome force, as if she was alive, and he was bonded to her. The dreams continued, the same recurred, followed by others, in which he saw a Knight in armor, as in history books. He saw a weird figure, a radiant essence, made of pure energy. He then saw a statue, with a head on it. The face was that of an old woman but with young imaculate traits and long medusa-like hair... She had no body, nor neck, it was only her head, sitting on the pedestral. But the most peculiar sight in this dream, was a blonde- haired boy, kneeling before the statue. It was him! Himself, in that dream, the same angelic face and long blonde hair as he sported. His clothes were different from his modern outfit, but he saw a flute attached on the boy's back.... a flute? He woke up in the morning with the flute in mind... All day at work he had the image of the boy and his flute. He then remembered something.... and fell into a long pondering. His collegue looked at him.... "Hey William, you alright?" He didn't stir "Hey Will!" "Huh?" He responded, gasping out of his mind-bending. "Jesus, you were lost or something",the man paused and smiled," did you make an astral travel??" He then laughed... "No, I was thinking... thanks for caring" Will said "No prob... just dont get caught fabulating like that or the boss'll be mad." And he went back to his typing... This sort of behavior wasn't such a rare sight, he had always been the reflective, lonely man... minding his own business - fully. But the vision remained, the flute. As soon as he went back home, he had rushed to the basement and found what he was looking for.It was an old chest he had had since he was there, he found multiple items, each more intriging than the last. There was a red jewel, possibly a ruby of great value, a strange blue orb, emanating a turquoise aura, sheet music, and finally, the mystic flute he had been dreaming about. He somehow knew how to play the flute, and tried the notes on the sheet. It was a soft eerie hymn, that felt familiar... Then the memories came rushing to his head, he remembered the mythical world he had seen in his dreams, it was the Earth, as he had thought, but with different places, uncharted cities, epic ruins... unknown civilisations. He had been raised in the small fisherman's town of South Shore, until he had left with his father to the Tower of Babel. The party had met with disaster and he had scarcely made it back to his hometown. He was not much more than 13 in that time, barely under- standing the worldand its marvels. His grandparents took care of him until he met that black-haired girl, Kara. She was the princess of the kingdom in which he lived. Their destinies had crossed and they had been pulled onto the trip of their lives. A trip around the world with his best friends where he met Gaia, the Statue in his dream... She had explained to him the things he needed to know and had presented him Freedan, The Dark Knight, and Shadow, the ultimate warrior, which he had both seen in his dreams... Assuming their body and forms, he had saved the world from the comet's disasters and had met with his father's soul. After his quest, he and his friends had returned to the new evolved world, in which they lived now, as normal teenagers, their memories erased of their past woes and perils, Will was 23 now. He had searched for his missing friends and had found some of them. Lance and Lilly; the little couple had met again after their descent to Earth and settled down in New York. Will lived in Los Angeles and had had to move to find them. Playing the flute's memory melody to them, he had ressucitated their pasts and had found the old friends he remembered. Lance was that witty guy Will had always know. Lilly was that bold tomboy that he had met in their times. He and the two lovers teamed up to find the others. Their efforts had given fruit, and within a few years, they had found Erik, who was a bit youger than them, and Seth, who had started a career as a geologist after his studies. His older cousin Neil followed, he was an inventor, but wasn't as successfull as he had been in the other epoch. Using the same melody on them, Wil had been able to reform the whole voyaging group. One person was still missing, Kara, Will's dulciny.... the woman he had loved with all his heart during his journey.... he was still roaming the world in search of her and had never made it. So Will, ancient hero, savior of the earth, now unknown to the public eye, went around the world to find love and rest.
