Lol. If we're talking environmental concerns, I'd have to boycott my country! Laughing

We don't mean be on facebook to chat, we mean the chat implement that facebook has. Smile

Wait a minute, back up? Not to seem snarky, but you're boycotting Facebook on principle?

Despite what recent threads may look like Debate Island isn't just our "flaming pile of flames". People are capable of having reasonable discussions on there that take more time to argue than just a chat thread.

But now that you mention it the potential abuse of the chat is something to look into...

Well, I was imagining the chat could also be an open thing anyone could join. Like a little pop-up that you could have 1-on-1 or one pop-up that everyone can post in.

It would make the "Chit Chat 1.0" thread obsolete, but would not undermine other boards.

Well I know that raini and I often get into PM chains. The Open chat would help make this easier to have instant conversations. I doubt the boards themselves would be undermined, if for no other reason than larger, complex ideas would be expressed in the form of a post on the boards. Not to mention the fact that I imagine this chat would be basically more along the lines of a 1-on-1 whereas the board posts are open to all.

And of course my Evil Casino Empire can't be run via IRC. Evil or Very Mad
