it'll allow everyone to have a say, instead of admin+mod adding people we don't want and then have a complaint lodged against them, it'd better for a democratic TE boards rather than a monarchial (Praise to Queen Raini Very Happy )
We could eleminate that problem by voting the mods in. Wink

We're already in. Very Happy Flarie added me to ok/disallow people from asking to be a resident. The request goes to me, and I ok it (or not ok it). Very Happy

If someone is allowed in, the thread discussing them can be deleted before that happens.

I say the mods+admins decide who's in or who's out.

The whole vote thing sounds too time consuming...

^ Sounds like the best idea. And there'd have to be a consensus, and all. Or at least a general one.

I say we just have a group vote in the private boards
if we think that particular person is deserving of the TE resident status then we'll just vote or discuss arguments on why the should or shouldn't get the status

Well, my idea would mean that we get to know the members better, but if you don't like it its ok...

Hm, we could make a funny game out of this..

A member who feels like 'Hey, I can be a Resident too' has to do some funny things...every resident gives them an 'quest' they have to solve (related to the 3 SB games)...like solving some questions about the games, or about the resident...

Nothing too difficult, like
'Whats Freedans favourite Smiley?'
'Whats DPits weapon called?'
'Post a screenshot of you beating Dark Gaya'

Do you get what I mean?

I think you fail to see what my intention of Residents actually are. Read the post again...slowly.

There's no specific post count or what ever you have to reach to become a Resident. I agree to what Blade called being part of the family. There is a curtain family thing going on with the regulars here, and that's sort of what I wanted to "treasure" as it were.

It's not like the residents are only posting in the Private Boards, it's just an extra privilege that you have as a member of the family Very Happy
In the Private Boards you can discuss things you don't want the whole world to know.

I guess becoming a resident is all about trust. Whether the people on the forum trust you as a person or not.

I think they mean ... how does a person who newly joins TEF attain the status of Resident? ... since they haven't been with through the thick and thin but at some point may need to be pushed up to resident

If under your name the title says "TerraEarth Resident", or if you're like me and eFlare, "Moderator" and "Administrator". Very Happy That constitutes if you're "one of us".

Pretty much, if it looks like this (as an example):

then you're a resident and able to post in the private boards.
