Chrono Cross is a good example, after playing Final Fantasy X, I just couldn't play it cause it looked so dodgy |
Uh.... you DO realize that FFX was a PS2 game, and Chrono Cross was an original Playstation game, correct? CC had some kickass graphics when it was released. I need to beat the "GRAPHICS DON'T MEAN SHIT AND ONLY THE GAME MATTERS" logic into you, Axey. _________________

Awesome stuff. Here's even more awesome stuff (if it's true).
http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=36071&subsectionid=1587
In a nutshell, the main point is that as far as the "downloading the whole game library" thing goes.... any first party games (Nintendo-made) can be downloaded for free, and any third party developers (Squeenix, for example) could charge for downloads if they so desire.
That's assuming this is true; I've never even heard of the site before, so I can't vouch for reliability. And Nintendo's always been about profit... if they did offer their own games for free, they'd be missing out on a good piece of cash.
But if it IS true, that could be interesting. Nintendo knows a lot of people would shell out for a Revo if they get all the games in one box.
Bah... all speculation at this point, until there's something concrete directly from the big N.
Edit: From another message board, I've read that there are 221 games confirmed for download (from NES/SNES/N64) so far, according to Famitsu Magazine. _________________

Axey doesn't care, if you want to hurt him
he's happy with the games that he wants to get, and the games he plays, its not like it should affect anyone except himself, because its Axey who actually plays it, not anybody else in the boards. Some people like graphics, some people like gameplay, some people like Nintendo and some people like Xbox. Everyone has their own taste of games, end of story.
Axey will stop talking in 3rd person _________________ You're just a human being, my dear, sweet child |

So the downloads aren't free.
IGN wrote: | There's some disappointing news for those expecting these classics to be available for free. Nintendo is planning on pay downloads as being the standard for this download system. There will be many types of services, though, including limited time free downloads. One possibility mentioned by Iwata is free downloads as bonuses for buying new games. |
Can't say I'm surprised, really. Nintendo would be giving up a huge piece of change if they allowed the games to go for free.
Regardless, all that means for me is that I won't be able to get everything I want all at once. I still plan on getting the most classic of the classics. _________________

Source?
Edit: I looked it up on GameSpot, and it seems sketchy at best. A basic teaser poster floating around that anyone could have made.
I'm skeptical. _________________

Unless it's directly from Nintendo, I wouldn't believe it. Plus, didn't Nintendo already say that they're revealing the final design next E3, which would be in May 2006? _________________

I've read rumours (from pissy little no-name sites, so take this for what it's worth) that they might hold a Spaceworld show in Japan, and they'd show it there.
But I've also heard E3 too, so I don't know.
I'd email Nintendo about it, but their automated responses don't help. _________________
