I love all of these comics, but which one is the best.
George Carlin is my personal favorite. It was a shame when he died. He was truly one of the greats.
Lewis Black is great too, although he is very crude and you can't really listen to him all the time.
Dane Cook is okay, but sometimes you think that he's the only one who gets his jokes.
Robin Williams is just weird, and I love that.
Andrew Dice Clay is okay, but 80% of his acts are just shouting obscenities and telling filthy jokes.
Paul Rodriguez is hysterical, but I have only heard a bit of his works.
Dave Chapelle goes without saying, but his skits are funnier than his stand up.
Ellen Degeneres is pretty funny too, but all I've seen is her show. |

since I hate british humor and can't laugh at most of american comedy I like the guy who moderates "The daily show", especially his way of interviewing people.
although most german comedy is brainless bullshit and I don't like stand-up-comedy (despite germany having many stand-up-artists which are very skillfull, Mittermeier e.g.)
at least I like georg schramm, although he's a politics cabaret artist, he's the best germany has to offer. helge schneider and harald schmidt are also 2 outstanding german comedians one has to love or hate _________________

The only ones I really like were Carlin and Williams. Both were great comedians who transitioned well into film. I also (From off the list) loved Andy Kaufman- a great comedian who died shortly after I was born. He was whacky and insane (He and a friend broke into Graceland and took pictures in Elvis' former bed!) _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. I don't know if I really have a favourite out of that list, but:
- Dane Cook is not funny. In terms of energy, he can gain and keep a crowd's attention with the best of them, but his "jokes" never go anywhere. He almost never delivers punchlines, and instead recites a moderately-humourous-at-best story. I've watched a few of his comedy specials, and I honestly don't see what the commotion is about him.
- Robin Williams was funny 10 years ago. Now, he seems to try too hard, just happy for the attention. _________________

i wouldn't say he is entirely not funny, he still gets a laugh or two, he did some pretty funny stuff with bill bailey at a... thing to... i dunno, celebrate prince charles' birthday or something, it was good stuff though |
