That's right! Pokemon Gold and Silver for the Game Boy Color are being re-made for the Nintendo DS! Named "Heart Gold" and "Soul Silver", these games are scheduled to release this fall in Japan, meaning that a Spring release is likely for NTSC and PAL regions.
So who is ready to return to Johto? _________________

I disagree. It's fucking Gold and Silver, the height of the series...and it's being remade! _________________

the option i'd go with isn't there so i'm not voting, you play one pokemon game you've practically played them all, for me the series just died slowly from the start... too bad really |

at least they usually have improved stuff and an at least okay storyline, plus most of them have difficulty levels, with pokemon they just hand you a pokemon and tell you to fuck off and beat the game, and the extra stuff in the are a bit crap (however the contests in ruby & sapphire weren't bad) for instance who can really be bothered to play slot machines for 3 realtime weeks in order to get the coins to by a pokemon? it gets boring quickly so you might as well go earn a lot of cash and exchange money for coins, to me it just died faster than any other game or game series |

Spoiler : You were doing it wrong.
Also, Gold/Silver was a huge improvement over Red/Blue/Green/Yellow at the time. _________________

sure, you can say that, but apart from 100 new pokemon plus new types, a new region and better colour is it really that different?
and if you were referring to the slots by saying i was doing it wrong then maybe you'd like to explain how you can do it right considering all there is to it is to hit the button and stop each bit when you think it'll stop on the right symbol, you lose or you win, mostly the first of the two but you win just enough to stay ahead of your starting amount, to me it was just a waste of time. However if you were referring to something else then perhaps you'd like to be more specific?
i do hope you don't continue this, i'm not the type who enjoys these sorta comments, i prefer to make it short. |

Games ARE a waste of time by definition, what are you talking about?
I could list all the improvements it had, but I feel you won't be changing your mind and that I would be wasting my time here. _________________

I liked the fact that I could get all 3 starting pokemon without screwing around trading. I would put enjoyment level of Gold/Silver as about the same as Red/Blue, but only because I had played them so many times that it was sorta repititious for me catching and raising the bastards all over again, even if they were differently named and drawn. _________________ It's high time I revised this signature. |

quite right, but most games keep you amused if only for a short time, but i am glad you see sense and don't try to convince me about anything |

if you'd swapped the order then you'd think differently, the initial games are always the better because they were new, sequals lose any chance of shining when they have too many similarities to the original, so in that sense i agree, gold/silver were nothing special and neither are most sequals, but at least in other games they have different goals some of the time (from my perspective that is, you might not get where i'm coming from) |
