I keep inventing great little games when I have nothing better to do.
The Game of Id
1. Take any word: SHIELD
2. Chop off the first letter and change the second: YIELD
3. Repeat until you're unable:
SHIELD
YIELD
HELD
OLD
ID
The great thing about this is you can do it surreptitiously, on like a post-it note or on MS Word or something and still seem like you're working. Plus it's farily brain-building.
Count the Morons
This game is even more simple. Just make a game of counting how many idiot customers you have to deal with. Next shift, try to break that record!
Foreign Surprise
When your supervisor isn't around, randomly begin talking to your customer (a new one) in a completely different accent. I'm partial to Scottish, because I got a bit of Scotish blood in me.
Cooperative Art
You need an equally lazy co-worker for this one, but it pays off.
1. Get a piece of paper or post-it-note.
2. Draw one line, circle, or polygon.
3. Pass it to your friend and have them do the same.
4. Repeat until you have a picture or get bored.
Try Your Manager's Patience
For this to work you have to really really not mind the potential for a write-up or worse. All this game consists of is seeing how many bathroom/ smoke breaks you can get in an hour or your shift.
I prefer the bathroom one, because they might think you're sick and let you off early.
Anybody else have any games (I know Raini likes the baler!) _________________ Support me on Patreon!

Well, where I work, I'm the boss, so I just get on TE when I'm bored. _________________

I usually just talk to my coworkers when I'm bored at work. Though, if we think up stuff to do to get rid of the boredom, we do it. The baler thing was one that was in the works for a while, but damn it paid off.
And Jason: the customers I get at work, for that "count the morons"? 99% of them ARE morons, I don't think I can ever break that to a complete 100%, since I have a lot of regulars that come in and aren't morons. _________________
