I just checked out a preview video on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teAqRZX4hbY ).

That's freaking crazy.

Very hard core though. Very Happy

The 'Kaizo traps' are particularly nasty; it's possible to die during Mario's little victory walk after crossing the goal. I remember seeing one video where you had to bring a P-Switch with you, hit it, then wait a couple of seconds before crossing the goal. If you timed it right, some coins would turn to blocks for you to walk on (while some blocks turned to coins).... then just before the level faded out, everything would turn back, and the coins would turn back to blocks just as you stepped on them. If you cocked up the timing, you'd fall to your death.

I watched a bunch of levels from that about a year ago.

Someone had posted them on YouTube as "Asshole Mario". It was painful to watch.

Ah yes, Kaizou Mario. The rom hacks are amazing, but that game is notorious for trying to make you screw up. I'll have to check it out sometime.

I don't like Kaizo Mario... it's almost impossible without savestates and slowdown, i preffer normal hacks playable by humans. Smile

Brutal Mario is an awesome hack, it has bosses from other games, like Chrono Trigger.

But my favorite hack is the VIP series. Four hacks made by japanese people, they are hard but playable and fun, and the main character is awesome:
