Okay, I need somebody who's smart with HTML to help me.
I'm teaching myself HTML again, to try and start creating custom websites without having to rely on templates (like webs).
I'm having some trouble with <a href="mailto:"> tags though. They always open up my Outlook Express, which doesn't support HTTP email clients (and I don't have a POP3 or IMAP email address).
Is there anyway to create a <a href="mailto:"> tag which will just open up, say hotmail with the name already inserted into the To line? _________________ Support me on Patreon!

i think the mailto: command opens a new email window in whatever is configured to be the default email program on your computer. which, unless youve said otherwise, will be outlook. as for how to change it, i dont know. _________________

This would always be a setting of your browser. Since Hotmail isn't an actual application you'll have to get creative.
I gave it a quick Google and found this: Set Firefox 3 to Launch Gmail for mailto Links. It gives an example of the URL https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s being the "action" URL. And for Hotmail that same URL would be: http://www.hotmail.msn.com/secure/start?action=compose&to=%s
So, just try to follow those instructions, but use that Hotmail address instead. (or just switch to Gmail)
And if you're not using Firefox, you'd better be using Chrome, and that just has an add-on for it. If you're using IE... well.... _________________ ... "If you doubt, you question.
