Saw this movie for the first time last night. Yeah, it's six years old, but I wasn't really interested in it back in 2004. It was on, of all things, ABC Family last night and I sat down and watched it.
Now most people realize that Van Helsing is a character who originated in Bram Stoker's Dracula. He was a doctor who understood the occult. Now I believe he was a recurring character through other works of Stoker, but I don't know this for a fact.
There was a graphic novel of Van Helsing, though whether or not that was the inspiration for the movie I don't know for sure (though I would imagine).
The story was kinda "meh", and the characterization was pretty stock, but the movie was still really good. The thing that I loved the most about this movie was the soundtrack.
Journey to Transylvania
Dracula's Nursery
Who are they to judge?
And my personal favorite:
Useless Crucifix

I saw it last night too! XDD On the same channel!! Wooooow. Though I've only seen bits of it before, and I missed the first 34 minutes of it cause I was watching a different movie before that. And then I barely paid attention since I was on the internet until about 1 o'clock in the morning. |

I rather liked it. Saw it in theaters and bought it on DVD when it came out. It even came with a poster!
Don't have it anymore, though... _________________
