Yes it does. Technically, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Beruga's sentence, but at some time in the past, the word "arouse" has cum to only mean waking up in a decidedly sexual way.
A slight alteration could have made the sentence much less of a sexual double-meaning, by changing "I thank you for AROUSING me" to "I thank you for ROUSING me".
