What do you think that would be the features of a Operating System specificly made for gamers? How would it be? What features would it have?

For computer illiterates, an example of an operating system is Windows...

An Arcade, 'nuff said. Cool

Either that, or a MIDI drum set connected to Windows running DTXMania. *Joygasms*

I'm sure there would already be a great linux gaming distro if only some of the major gfx/audio companies would just open-source their drivers already...

Who said Linux isn't good enough for gamming already... but since it became like that not long ago, it is now when the good games are starting to come...

Tought it could be better..

If Linux gains more acceptance companies won't have another choice but have good drivers for Linux somehow...

Still Linux isn't what you could call a gamming OS, because it has not been done with the focus on gamming, and that means (for example) that kernel developers might include features are unnecesary for games and could make the kernel bigger. but they could be good for other stuff. Same for all other software. X11 is definitly not made with games in mind.

yeah, Linux is used often in chipped Xboxes and PS2s
I know a mate that has a Linux in his Xbox and he can store and has a 80 gig harddrive installed, so he can copy games onto the harddrive and play them with virtually no loading time and watch Mpegs, listen to music etc.

For the perverts (Not me, I actually think it'd be nasty) a sex hole built into the computer. They'd never have to worry about girlfriends ever again. (Or boyfriends, for that matter)

Ummm... that's my really weird perverted though for the night. O-o;

Anyway, I'd have a huge memory space, I'd want to have emulators to be able to play any video game I wanted. Erm... I feel stupid now, so I shall stop typing...

The perfect gamer's OS would be:
One with a creator whose name rhymes with Zill Tates
Is named after an opening in a wall used to see outward
Has a flag shaped logo

That would rock.

How about a "Clear-PaGaN3l3m3nts's-mind-of-mental-scarring-from-the-visual-image-of-Axe's-manhood-stuck-in-a-USB-port-campaign?" Surprised
At any rate, the OS... Built specifically for gaming, the interface would be set up for only a few simple things: quick and easy recognition of hardware changes (from the constant upgrading of video and sound cards), and everything needed for installation and running the appliactions. And applying patches. The interface would be one of the simplest things imaginable, so as to save ALL the RAm for running the games, and getting them up and running quickly. Hardware-wise, a shitload of memory, awesome sound card and video card w/ surround, and more USB ports than you know what to do with, for tons of peripherals.
Wait, wouldn't it just be an X-Box? An X-Box is just a PC converted into a gaming console...
