I'm not sure if I can agree with the notion that FF7 is the best FF game ever. It's a great game, yes, but I likes FF4-6 more. Very Happy I'll add a list when I'm more coherent to do so.

HERECY!!!! BURN THE HERETIC!!!!!!!!

FF7 ROCKS!

btw WHY IS TERRANIGMA NOT UP THERE!!??

I like FF7 just as much as the next person, and I can agree that for its time, it had the best graphics and the best music, but then everything went to hell with what I like to call the Final Fantasy 7 Retcon Wankfest Complication Compilation. Had they just stuck with Advent Children as the sequel of sorts, then I wouldn't have to call it that. Neutral The other FF games did it better, in my opinion.

I agree 7 is a good game, but I could never get into it. However, when I played 8, I fell in love with that game; the story, the characters, the graphics- I don't want to start a debate over which of the series is better (Lord knows that topic is all but talked to death) so let's all not get into it, shall we?

Also, I'm surprised no one even mentioned Soul Blazer- I know it was a small game, but yesh. I actually had more fun, personally, playing that game than I did when I played through IoG- both are good games, but once again, something in SB resonated stronger with me than it did in IoG... prehaps it's a case of you'll always remember your first...

...VII?

...
...
...

...what? Seven was ok. Yeah, I'll agree that VII was one game you should play, but because of its importance to the industry, not because it was a good FF game or anything. Oh, and for the record, Advent Children (though beautiful and one of my fav movies ^^) totally sucks if you're not HARDCORE into FFVII. As for the top ten? Well, ignore the order, here's my list:

1. Super Mario Bros
-Developed the "Platformer" genre and re-invigorated the VG market
2. Pac-Man
-Breathed new life into arcades, and remains one of its best games
3. Final Fantasy VII
-Set an unprecedented standard for presentation in games
4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Defined 3D Adventure games
5. Grand Theft Auto III
-Created the "Sandbox" genre
6. Portal
-an innovative look at the First-Person genre
7. Tetris
-One of, if not the, best puzzle games ever
8. Street Fighter II
-Brought innovative combo systems and mass popularity to Fighters
9. Halo
-Proved that yes, FPS games can be good on consoles
10. Super Mario 64
-Took gaming full force into the world of 3D

All of these games did something incredibly significant for the gaming industry as a whole. These are the games that defined their respective genres. If you want to truly understand what brought games to where they are today, these games will give you a good idea.

Even if these games aren't for everyone, you can't argue their unparalleled significance.

does anyone here play GTA without just using a cheat to spawn a tank and then blow the hell out of everything?
