just heard the news that this game was being ported to the DS. So far its been announced that its going to have one new dungeon, touch screen capability, and i think i read somewhere about multi player capability.

Yea, just thought id share the news to anyone on the forum who is a fan.

I read the article on 1up.com. Supposedly it's supposed to be a straight port of the original, which is good. I recently found it on the SNES where I work, but I prolly won't buy it now. I'd much rather have it on the DS. (I handheld gaming!) _________________

I never understood the universal love for Chrono Trigger. It was definitely good, but it had its share of problems. No more than a 7.5 out of 10, I'd say.

Still, I would be more interested in picking it up if it had been a remake rather than a port with an extra dungeon. A remake could have at least fixed some of those problems. Improved combat would have been appreciated. _________________

i always liked the combat system, it was pretty simple, but not completely turn based.

still, i have to agree wtih Freedan on how it would be nice for a remake instead of a port. the DS can handle 3D games so why not take advantage of that.

also yea this game was always a bit over rated but still pretty good. _________________ Touch it and Die

you're right, but it's just that chrono trigger is one of the better rpg's, and is responsible for the remake which is one of the best rpg's ever. well, that's why we are on terraearth and not on chronoearth.com

ive heard great things about this game (have yet to play it), but it just might be my reason to get a DS. mainly 'cause just pokemon isnt a good enough reason for me. _________________
