Tetris is probably the ultimate time-waster.
Make lines. Couldn't be simpler. But then you end up doing it for an hour without realizing it.
I remember having Tetris on the original GameBoy. 504 lines, before the pieces started coming down at such ungodly speeds, I couldn't move them before they hit.
