Toying around with the Miyoo Mini Plus I picked up and using it to cross some games off my list.
Doing my first playthrough of Pokemon Sapphire. Made it to Slateport, and planning on working my way up through all of the Pokemon Generations that I missed out on. Probably won't be getting too invested but I feel like I should have at least touched base on them for sake of my inner child.
Also replaying Chrono Trigger and Digimon World, burnt out of the latter right near the end but I'm up to Magus' Lair in the former.
Apart from that I need to get back to my Dragon Age: Inquisition playthrough so I can finally finish the damned thing and get to Veilguard - mostly so my friends can stop bugging me. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

For streaming: Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and FFXI (still).
For non-streaming I started up a new run of Dragon Age Origins. Figured it's been a hot minute since I played the first two, and they had a nice sale when they announced that Dreadwolf became Veilguard for the Ultimate Editions and I was missing some stuff, so... yeah. I'm not too far into DAO yet, just out of Lothering, but I'm getting back into the lore and remembering stuff now. _________________

chrono trigger is something I could start again sometime...
I stopped playing POE2, because it's not as good as POE1. I'll try again on the full version.
started seiken denetsu 3 (SoM 2) with my buddy for our thursday-evenings. _________________

Now that we own it, hubs and I are playing Tales of Graces f Remastered together. And by "together" I mean "I play the story but when we have battles we get to do co op battles" lol. But I got the original ps3 version when we were dating and we played it like that, so playing it like that again with updated everything will be nice, I think. _________________

@psychokind: Chrono Trigger still really really holds up. Like I loved it as a kid but as an adult I can really appreciate how this may be the best thing on the SNES, even moreso than my beloved (but buggy as hell) Final Fantasy VI.
Never really got into the Seiken Densetsu stuff, except for a brief emulator play of Secret of Mana which I never finished. How is the series?
@raini: DA:O is the kind of game I start a bunch but rarely finish. I love toying with the opening bits more often than going through the whole game. Some sections I find interminable (the Fade is obvious choice here but honestly I also kind of thing the Redcliff stuff drags a bit).
I'm currently working on an Inqusition playthrough as mentioned but I think that I may just have to accept that I really don't enjoy Dragon Age style combat (fell off of KOTOR for the same reason, don't fuck w/ that type of tactical combat). Love the characters and stories and have the fondest memories of Dragon Age II and the Great City of Bisexual Menaces Being Horny For Each Other And Chaos.
Also I keep telling myself I'll eventually get around to FFXI, because I want to experience the story and the knowledge (and Dawntrail is twisting my fucking arm with the Raid Series, but then I also said I'd play Nier Automata because of Shadowbringers and I am yet to do that... )
= = = =
Also Val and I are playing Syberia 3. We were worried about it being potentially very bad but if you can live with the many control issues on the Switch and the terrible English VA work the gameplay is actually pretty solid. Wholeheartedly recommend Syberia 1 and 2 if you have not had the pleasure - both are incredible point and click adventure games and you can get the combo pack on the Switch for a pittance. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I've played Syberia 1 and got through most of 2, but never finished. Have 3 and World Before, and I'll eventually stream them haha.
FFXI is... well, it's easier than it was to play 20 years ago lol. Good reminder to get my vods up though, since I stream it for story precisely for the XIV raid story. Just beat Chains of Promathia on Wednesday, though I need to do the final cutscenes to truly finish it, but the final boss theme for the phase 2 is a freakin' banger. The music in XI is a big ol' chef's kiss, really. If you do end up playing, I play on Valefor; quiet server compared to Asura and Bahamut, the two bigger servers, but I like that tbh. I can't craft worth a shit though because crafting in that game is spinning the RNG wheel for as much as the devs deny it so I can't help there, but I can at least get some gil out.
re: DA:O, I got Veilguard so I want to play them all again so I can remember wtf was happening. Good story though, and when they announced the Dreadwolf -> Veilguard name change, they put everything on sale so I grabbed all the dlc I was still missing for 1 and 2 to play through, which has been fun. Still playing as a mage and kissing Alistair though, nothing has changed since my first playthrough _________________

well for SoM 1 I'd say theres a bit of childhood nostalgia involved for most people, so I can't really judge objectively how good it is. it is not as good as chrono trigger, but it definitely was a commercial success back then.
SoM 2 (Seiken densetsu 3) I played as an adult for the first time, and it's just a allround good game. especially with another player. the modern remake was received well, and it's quite modernized. it doesn't hold up as much as the SNES graphics of the original for a second playthrough. SoM 2 is a really high-end SNES game.
the rest of the SoM games all suck pretty much, except for the newest rendition Visions of Mana. I liked it quite a bit, although it's a bit too modern for my taste. _________________

I wish I wasn't always so busy, but I will definitely try to tune in if you stream these ones. Val and I are about to finish 3 SPECIFICALLY so we can play the World Before. The music in this game is also fucking incredible and the Valadilene theme from 1 is such a comfy tune.

Some day for sure . Val is an omnicrafter in XIV with me and she is much better at the technique of crafting than I am. But I'll have to see how it handles in XI as you're not the first person to make a similar comment. I suppose anything is better than XIV 1.0.

Alistair grew on me in my later playthroughs but on my first one I specifically avoided him because I wanted to romance Morrigan because... well because I am man and she is Morrigan. And then I got mad that I didn't harden Alistair properly and so he was gonna be a weak king so I let him... *spoiler spoiler and then the evil woman I hate became Queen*

Childhood Nostalgia is a potent force that carries a lot of mediocre games, but I will say something that can nestle itself into the sweet comfy spot of hyperactive youths is doing something right. Watching my kid reminds me of how I was at that age and like... if something was bad I still did my best to make the most of it, but some stuff stuck and a lot didn't lol.

I'll maybe give it a shot. Been on a SNES kick. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Yea, it's a darker game. MM was creepier though. |

It's one of the Zelda games I never finished. I liked the grander, more epic scale. We often said it was "Ocarina of Time but more dark fantasy", but I only ever got as far as the Water Temple.
Majora's Mask I finished like... once? It has a hold on me, and every horror-loving millenial, but it's far from my favorite Zelda title. Think that honor still goes to my OG beloved Link to the Past just for nostalgia sake.
= = =
Oh, uh, finished Syberia 3. It was actually really good. Gonna buy World Before next paycheck. I just got back from Glasgow so I've been chilling with light games but looking to pick up FFX again here in a bit and honestly... Kingdom Hearts has been calling out to me, particularly the first one. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I'm pretty consistent with streaming, barring me being sick or something coming up that's unavoidable, stream always happens at 2pm pst Tue-Fri Usually go about 3 hours, so for ahead of me time, that's 5pm-8pm usually.
Man FFXIV 1.0 wasn't bad re: crafting, but XI... ughhhhh. I'm just going to leave this here. The devs said it was false and just superstition, but I don't think anyone believes it. The devs also said this recently (well, as recent as 2016 can be but) so this was a thing for 14 years before they said "nah that isn't correct" lol. Essentially, people thought the direction you were facing on a specific day (all days are elemental days; Darksday, Lightsday, Firesday, etc. - these are also similar in FFXIV, but I don't think it's ever directly mentioned except for in the EEs iirc) while crafting something using the same element as the day would give you better luck in gaining skill points into your chosen profession, as well as getting a HQ craft. It's a little more... basic, than in XIV, where you select the elemental crystal you want to use + an item together and it'll start a craft process. You either succeed or fail. It's not very fun.
As for DA:O, I'm not sure how I want to harden Alistair against everything because I don't want [giant spoiler for Inquisition] to happen this time, but to not have it happen in that way, I have to have Loghain and I'm very. Ughhhhhhhhh about that lmao. We'll see what I decide, I've been playing pretty slowly but I'm in Orzammar and I'm not a fan of the Deep Roads part - different reasons than the whole 'escape the Fade' part, the Deep Roads creep me out and the whole Broodmother thing is also pretty _________________

Phone games. Way too many phone games.
I bought a switch in Feb, brand new, wholly unaware there was a Switch 2 coming. I played OG DOOM on it and the Halloween arcade style game that came out last year. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it.
