Hmm, seem that the downloads cut off at 40 MB, so i guess you'll have to break the archive up into 38 MB large pieces. _________________

Sometimes in the side-areas you might get an error message... something to the effect of "<> cannot convert nil from String". These are areas where I forgot to assign a battle background. The best way to avoid this is to set your Enemy Encounter mode to either Auto-Level or one of the On-Map variants and to avoid the following sidequests (will be updated as I discover more):
Santa's Workshop. |
I got this game crash when I tried out the battle royale in the RP Punch Up, just letting you know.
AAAAAAALSO, did you want us to fill out the bug things again for you, or did you just want us to tell you things here?
fdhgsajf and one last thing -_- because I'm stupid tired, but the game doesn't seem to be progressing if I go the save the world route once I get to Itory Village. o.O what the hell am I doing wrong? _________________

You have to go into the Pub, and then you'll get into an event that should progress the story forward. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Which I did a couple times. I don't know if it's because I took on the Brewmaster's Guild stuff? But nothing progresses it. I'll try again though and see what happens. _________________

Hmm?! That's odd... could there be a variable disagreement?
Try completing the Brewmaster's Guild and see if that fixes your problem. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Will do. Buuut I think the part-time job at the Freejia bar is stuck on infinite repeat? I've been doing that for five minutes with no end, no joke.
edit: aaaand no story advancement. I finished the Brewmaster's Guild stuff, reentered the pub, nothing. Went to the Incan Ruins to get the "Go back to Itory" message to see if that would do anything, and still nothing. _________________

@Raini: Something got screwed up on your end... must have been a journal variable disagreement. I'll need to make a patch.
Folks: To prevent this bug, refrain from joining the Brewmaster's Guild until after you've beaten the game.
Also, I think I'm going to have to re-upload a version with less bugs... Sorry Valerie! _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I'll restart, then. Still, figured I'd bring that to your attention. I tried futzing around and looking at raw code, but alas, that did nothing since I'm not sure what a disagreement would be anywhere else. XD

Well speaking geek for a minute, a variable disagreement is when two events in the game are set to occur at the same time but are based on separate variables, which end up cancelling each other out or causing the game to freeze (I'm guessing yours resulted in the former). I don't recall any event of such occuring when you enter that one map, however, which is why I'm so confused. At least nothing that would cancel out the Journal variable... perhaps that's the problem.
Maybe the Journal variable gets messed up somewhere along the line... I'll need to re-check that for your story.
Sorry to muse out loud folks.
And thanks for pointing that out Raini. Sorry about the mess-up! _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Well, if you figure out where the disagreement is, and tell me where it is in the code, I can probably fix it myself on my end (I uh, have RPGMVX for myself. You know. By internet means. ) but after looking around and trying to figure out where the disagreement is, unless it's the brewmaster's guild thing starting as well as my story continuing at the same time (since the Beer Baron is in Itory in the pub and that's where I have to go to progress my story), that's really the only thing I can think of that would be in disagreement. _________________

Well that's what i thought, but since we're dealing with two auto-run events that would cancel each other out to prevent freezing they would have to be in the same map. The event sequence for the story takes place in the map upstairs and the Beer Baron in the event downstairs so that doesn't make sense.
My new hypothesis is that the variable "JOURNAL" got screwed up somewhere. A temp fix would be this:
1. Create an event anywhere with a character sprite.
2. Find the auto-run event in the Itory Pub.
3. Switch to the page that has Rain Party switch on as a prerequisite.
4. Find out what value the JOURNAL variable is supposed to be at.
5. That event you created in 1? Have it do this:
Code: | Control Variable (Set [whatever the value at 4 is]). |
6. In the game, go "talk" to that event.
7. Make sure you don't talk to it again, ever. In fact, I would save and then go into the code and delete that event.
8. That should rule out a "JOURNAL" variable malfunction and hopefully solve the problem. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Unless I did something wrong (it's late for me and god I should be asleep) the game just freezes or does nothing/doesn't let me talk to the event starter. I'll try again tomorrow when I'm more coherent and not so derp at trying to figure things out. _________________
