I finally got used to the long jump (I would keep hitting the attack button at the same time, which would cancel out the jump), but I'm used to that now. The problem is the lack of finer control. The characters tend to keep taking an extra step or so after I stop moving, which makes moving around narrow platforms or the edge of a ledge tough to manage. If I need to walk over to the end, they'll keep walking off the end.
An example is in Bowser's second level. There's a place with a ramp (slopes on both sides) with a narrow flat part in the middle. It literally took me 11 tries to get on to the flat part, because I couldn't stop in the right place. Or if I jump over a hole to get to something, sometimes they'll keep drifting right off the outer edge. I've lost quite a few lives that way. _________________

It's odd that Jump ultimate Stars hasn't been mentioned yet.
It's an imported japanese game but it still works for the american DS.
It's basically a game that is like super smash bros but with so many characters to choose from. Those characters are based on the Jump animes. |

My boyfriend has that game. It's actually pretty fun, though he had to ask me what some of the katakana said. He's so rusty on his Japanese. XD _________________

So this is basically a discussion thread where you can talk about upcoming titles, games you like, give your own reviews, and so on. I'll do some more myself once I've played my other games.
And do I really need to ask for the obvious stuff? If you wanna add something not DS-friendly, ok... as long as it's constructive and all. No "DS sucks, PSP rules" stuff. We don't need a fanboy thread going. I don't think I really need to say so, everyone has common sense and all, but... well, the request is there. |
I'm glad to hear that you got your DS. I got one too, but sadly I only got three games. I know, it's not much, but at least I could always get some more once I get a job somewhere and get some money. |

My biggest problem with Mario 64 DS was the somersault. It's freakin hard as crap to execute! Oh, and I know what you mean about edgewalking and stuff, Freedan. Especially the way the camera is set up. That makes it even harder. _________________

Are you talking about a jumping somersault?

Like when you go one direction with the D-Pad, then snap the opposite direction and press jump. It's not that it's hard with a D-Pad compared to an analogue stick, but the way the camera turns it's really frustrating. _________________

Yeah, I know what you mean.
What makes it so frustrating is probably the camera, like you mentioned. They probably should've made the game better so you can do it a lot easier. |
