Well, surprisingly, we've had snow in the last few days here in London (UK).
Granted, most of it melted just after or even before it hit the ground, but it's been snowing. With little bits frosting the plants and tops of walls and cars, and leaving small and dangerously slippery patches on some of the pavements, it's definitely there. |

So we're now coming up on the last week of January, and... to be honest, we haven't had much of a Winter.
We've had maybe two snowstorms around here. A few days where it got really, really cold (that bitter cold that just hangs in the air where it hurts to be outside). But other than that, there's been almost no Winter to speak of.
By this time last year, we had gotten a total of over 150 cm of snow. This year, we've gotten less than 30. Snow is rare, it's melting, and our temperatures are holding steady around -2 C. There's even been the occasional day where we've gotten positive temperatures. Tomorrow, they're calling for +3 C! The long range forecast shows it getting colder by the end of the week, but those things change all the time.
They're predicting that the rest of the Winter will be pretty mild too.
This all works just fine for me. If that's as bad as Winter got, I'd be perfectly happy with that. Though the farmers will complain that there's not enough snow on the ground when the thaw comes along. _________________

We've been getting all of your snow. I had to drive home in it on Thursday. I loved every second of it though! _________________

we didn't have snow, but earlier in the week we got a tornando warning (which NEVER happens here) and a massive flood warning (which also didn't really happen, but it did next city over )
really weird stuff happening this winter. |
