What do you think of the possibility that Terranigma will appear on the VC?
One of Quintets games Act Raiser recently did. So Terranigma could be possible. Most US people haven't heard of or played the game so it would be mostly new to them.
Whats your thoughts? _________________

One can only hope.
I actually am crossing my fingers that they'll use the VC to release previously unreleased games on foreign shores. But then this is Nintendo we're talking about. They're not even smart enough to set up online multiplayer on their VC games... _________________

I'm not sure. I was thinking that myself, and actually hoping for something like that. If Terranignma got released on the VC, I think our little forums would be flooded with new fans. Not that I'm against that, I think that would be awesome.
Of course, seeing Terranigma on my TV would be awesome, too. _________________

It would be very awesome. Let's hope so...

In order to re-release such games on the Wii there are some legal issues. So the original developers must agree etc etc.
But quintet is broke, im not fully sure but i think its just out of bussiness.
So acquiring such legal rights are alot more difficult, i doubt they will go trough such trouble. _________________ Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice. |

Actually, the legal rights for Quintet's games are held by Enix (now Square-Enix) with the exception of Granstream Saga (which no one really cares about) which was made after Quintet broke up and formed Shade.
So it's not entirely impossible. Actraiser is on the VC, after all. And EGM seems to be trying to push Nintendo to release the Soul Blazer series. In several of their issues they list the series as one of their top 5 most desired to see revived series ever. _________________

Nintendo has to ask the publisher and copyright owners of the original games to release them on the Virtual Console. This has been confirmed by Christian Svensson, a CAPCOM employee posting on the CAPCOM forums.
In this case specifically, Nintendo would have to ask ENIX and Kamui Fujiwara (he did the character design and the illustrations for Terranigma) since they own the rights to the game - as has been mentioned above, Quintet does not.
Given Terranigma's "niche" status and few fans though, I doubt it will ever be released since the games published through that service are targeted at nostalgic gamers coming back after years of absence from video gaming.

Or they could just ask a 100 points more so that enix earns a bit more money of it. I cant see why it wont come to VC. Production is super cheap since Terranigma is already fully translated in multiple langeaus and uploading a rom onto VC aint that much of an effort.
Next fact of VC is that not all the money goes to Nintendo. Actually most of it ends up at the rightfull publisher or developer. Its a great way to earn a bit more cash on a dead serie with little to no effort.
And I suggest once the nintendo forum is back up we all go there and ransack the VC forum demanding a Terranigma release! Grab arms my comrades together we will make them release the game and let them hand it to us on a silver plate! _________________ Gehaktbal, Frikandel, Bamihap

I'd actually buy a Wii to play Terranigma on a real console again...

Wait... I just thought of something...
Just because they release it on the VC, doesn't mean it'll be released everywhere. So, technically, America could still miss out. They've done this already. Japan has gotten a few games we [America] haven't. _________________

Thats because of translation issues dear
Terranigma is translated into english, spanish, french, German and italian is I remember the credits correctly. No bringing this on VC is a CRIME!

Nintendo NSider Forums Update
Nintendo is working on a major overhaul to Nintendo.com to support the continued success of Nintendo DS and Wii. As we prepare for this huge site update, Nintendo must unfortunately close the Nintendo NSider Forums message boards indefinitely beginning Sept. 17, 2007.
Once its up lets make a VC topic and post every hour. If they dont comply we'll make a topic every hour. After that we shall flood the boards!
WHO IS WITH ME!?
Spread the word on youtube, gamefaqs and game sites you visit. With enough men and women we will let them see the light and release the damn game on VC. _________________ Gehaktbal, Frikandel, Bamihap
