after finishing OoT, i thought it was hardly as great as it is said to be. for a game rated number 1 of all time (or it was until guitar hero 3 came along anyway) it just didnt seem to leave any impression. i personally enjoyed LttP much more.

anyone else think differently? or otherwise, agrees?

I think you will be very alone with your statement... OoT is one of the best RPGs, and the very best Zelda ever made. I think this doesn't need to be discused Happy Sad

I have to say I prefered aLttP, mainly because it had the more intense feeling when I played it.

But OoT is still one of the best N64 games, imo.

I don't think so. It was a classic game and forged the way for 3d zelda games.

I'd be hard pressed to choose between OoT and LttP as the 'best' Zelda, but OoT might take that honour by a slight margin.

It probably would have made a much bigger impact on you if you had played it when it first came out. Since you knew it was so widely hailed as perfection (or at least as close to it as you can get), the bar was set incredibly high as far as expectations go.

Trust me, I've had a few games get the same treatment from me. To this day, I don't understand the universal love for Chrono Trigger. A 7.5 out of 10, for me. Meh/Worried

But that's probably because I didn't play it for the first time until just a few years ago.

One major - point for OoT is, imo, that the whole strucure of the game was invented beofre => in LttP
3 temples, master sword, THINGS GET WORSE!, 5/7 temples, Ganon

LttP wins for me cuz it's in 2D, and I'm a SNES maniac all the way

but OoT draws you more into its story on the other hand...

I almost agree. As a long-time Zelda fan, I hear almost nothing about the series except how awesome OoT was. It gets tiring. So many people ignore the beauty of ALttP. That and OoT was a carbon copy of ALttP, anyway.

But anyway, one can not deny that OoT was an amazing game. Quite literally EVERY Action/Adventure game made since 1998 has been based on that game. (Zelda isn't an RPG, guys) Nearly everything about OoT was perfect, but it is true, to grasp its full greatness, you had to have played it around the time it was released. I reccomend trying out the Master Quest version for the GameCube. It's crazy hard the first time through.

Although OoT isn't my favorite Zelda (that honor is reserved by Link's Awakening), it is by far, and inarguably, the best. No matter how much even I'd like to argue that ALttP and LA were all better.

well i did enjoy the game, but since i was told how great it was supposed to be... i was slightly disappointed. and i really grew to hate that damn forest temple music, something about my inability to properly use a hookshot until too late into the game.

The music wasn't that special in OoT, except for the flute songs.

OoT was the first Zelda game I played, so it's my favourite out of the series (I've played LttP, and it's haaaard.)

Of course, the OMG BEST ONE EVERRRRR is heard for FF7, too. As said, I think it's because it was the first one in 3D, and it expanded everything more than it had been before.

Even i dont like the Time Limit I liked Majoras Mask more, cause you could fight all the boss again not only the Last.

If you completted OoT you can't do much (well you can go fishing, try to defeat the runner...). my oppion. Smile

Also the End Fight is to easy. If know how to do it.

If you know that Canondorf is vunerable and can be hit (by Light arrows) if does the giant Lighting Ball.
