Right now, there's this play I'm doing in our school's auditorium. I don't really want to have stage fright, neither do I want to forget any of my parts in the play. Other than this, it's pretty fun.
So, I thought I'd ask: have you ever had stage fright, or forgot any parts in a play? |

You peed yourself?
I also was the main actor all the times in school plays, I never was scared or forgot anything, but on the other hand, schools in Austria are smaller than in the US, I think...
The only time I was frightened was when me nad my bro played ministrants in a cinema movie.
But after 2 hours of shootings, we were just plain pissed off |

You crapped your pants?
We're doing this play called "The Princess and the Pea." I'm the Wizard, which luckily for me, I don't have to say so much parts in the play as my character. |

I didn't have stage fright when I was younger, and I tended to have main parts in church plays (I had all my dialogue and all the songs memorized within the first week of getting music/scripts).
...but now, I get nervous singing and such in front of people. I've gotten better since I started doing theater ever fall semester in school, but I only do children's theater (where we perform for schoolkids who usually range from 1st to 3rd grade). I did try for the big spring musical last year (Cabaret), but I failed the audition because I couldn't sing in front of the people I didn't know XD _________________

Well, I just got done with my first play, "The Princess and the Pea." Like I said before, I was the Wizard, and I had fun doing my part.
Like Chicken, I stuttered on some parts, especially towards the end of the play, where I stuttered three times.
Other than that, I did pretty good. |

Oh my I never use to have stage fright. I had a lead part in grade 5 I was Freddy the Frog and not only did I have to remember my lines and hop around like a frog I had to sing solos lol. I did them well I think my dad has it taped me in green makeup and everything. I developed a nasty sense of stage fright now though and cant sing infront of others at all which I am tryign to remedy!!! _________________ I am she who has long since forgotten her name, knowing only that I devour all time and space. |

i dont think i ever had stage fright. i didnt like looking at the crowd though. i always used 2 get lead role at russian school plays (i was only guy game enough to act/dance in front of all the parents and half the russian community in adelaide). but after all that, and "singing" at a friend's party for the band playing, ive rather gotten over stage fright. _________________

I never did a play, but I've played off of stage fright. I took a drama class in freshman year of high school, and at one point we had to perform or recite a monologue. A lot of people saw me as repressed, so I had decided to let them think I was having a bit of stage fright.
I took what was supposed to be a comedic bit and instead turned it into the ravings of an angered man.
I started by putting my hands on the desk, with my head low, reciting my lines at just above a mumble, loud enough for my class to hear. When it was time, I slammed my fists into the desk, raised my voice for the next line, pretended to get control, and fumed the remainding part of the monologue. I got an A for the assignment, and I scared the hell out of the class It was a blast.
Just, sometimes you gotta push forth and take stage fright, and flip it on it's head. It may even surprise those around you. :p _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it.
