No. 162 in an on-going series devoted to video game music.
That's pretty cool!
The music in Illusion of Gaia was probably second to Terranigma, but it did have some amazing pieces. In particular, the Sky Garden theme, Mother, and of course the Final Battle are among my personal favorites. Of course the intricate work in more complex pieces such as the Great Pyramid and Angkor Wat are also well noted and of course the South Cape theme is as nostalgia-inducing as the Mario Bros theme to true Soul Blazer Trilogy Fans. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I usually forget just how good IoG's music is. South Cape feels appropriately free-spirited, "Legacy of the Ancients" (which plays on the gold ship) has that 'ancient, legendary' feel... and though I don't remember the title, there's that haunting piece that plays in empty, desolate or sad places (I'm pretty sure it plays while you're in a labour camp... it plays at about 3:15 of that video.
And that's not even touching on the better-known pieces, like Angkor Wat, the Pyramid, or the Sky Garden, all of which were pretty good too.
I wonder if I should start another campaign in IoG soon. _________________

the music from Terranigma actually was played by a symphony orchestra, and then converted to 8bit. _________________

Illusion of Gaia has some of the best music i've heard in a RPG game. I actually have the IOG, terranigma and some of the soul blazer music on my comp and my mp3 player. =D _________________ Whenever there's light, there are shadows.

I put the IoG soundtrack on my iPod the other day, and to re-iterate a post i made in another thread, i absolutely love "South Cape", "Larai Cliff" and "Will's Dream", but ones i forgot that are amazing are "Itory, the Hidden Vilage", "Signs Of The Past", "Adrift", "The Great Wall of China" and last but not least "In The Earthern Womb".
The entire soundtrack is incredible, but those are my stand-out tracks, for sure. _________________ Your feet are the ground, one field of white. |

Well they have certainly been played by an orchestra, according to the OST's entry on Chudah's Corner. I tried to post a link, but i'm a junior member so i can't just yet!
Does anyone have this OST? I can't seem to find an actual download for it.
Thank yoooou. _________________ Your feet are the ground, one field of white. |
