when youre bored...?

so.. what do you guys do when you're bored? and when you cant be bothered loading up a game or whatever.

this might bring some decent discussion (i hope), and maybe keep that boredom away for a few minutes.

when im bored i tend to check this place and facebook for any updates. sometimes repeatedly. usually id read some manga, but i just finished reading yet another series and dont really feel like starting anything new. i also have my ds nearby if i feel like pushing a few different buttons.

When I'm bored, video games are what I do.

When I'm bored, pissed, depressed, lazy, or just in the mood, that's what I do. Nerdy as it sounds, video games are my release.

But I've been playing since I was 3, and pretty much grew up with them. Yes, I was one of "those" kids.

Well, "nerd" is slang for "a boring or unpopular person, especially one who is obsessed with a particular subject" (so sayeth The Free Dictionary], so "nerdy" would be an adjective describing one as such, or describing things such a person would tend to do as introverted, and possibly antisocial.

"Antisocial", incidentally, is "aversion to the society of others". I know what that one means too.

a nerd is a person who takes part in intelectual activities, that is the definition of nerd, i think you'll be able to work out the defenition of nerdy, and just in case you persist i don't care if it's slang or not

"Nerd" much more frequently refers to my definition, though your definition is included in a few places as well (though most 'intellectual' definitions tend to include the "unpopular, antisocial" aspect). At the very most, we're both right.

Whether or not you "care" that it's slang is irrelevant, and doesn't change its connotation. Given that, I think I'll stick with my definition.
