..... Wait, what?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's ever seen the ads for Gillette's Fusion razor... the commercial with Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Derek Jeter. The commercial sees them smacking their respective balls around, then all meeting up to... I don't know, talk about how smooth their faces are now?

But these men are athletes, and famous, and are therefore more manly than (and thus, intimidating to) us pale, flabby folks who push buttons on a controller to fill our spare time. Fortunately, Gillette has finally decided to reach out to those of us who don't spend all day every day playing with balls. That comes in the form of the Gillette Fusion Power Gamer razor.

What is it? It's a monstrosity - a 5-bladed sin against nature that will allow gamers (and ONLY gamers, damn it) to shave the fuzzy crud off their dorito-covered faces.

I'll bet you think I'm making shit up, don't you? Behold.

How is this razor different from the older Gillette Fusion? Um... a different colour scheme, I guess. The website has the big G (shown during loading screens) replaced with a game controller. But perhaps most importantly, it's not being shilled by Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Derek Jeter; it's being shilled by digital representations of them (who, by the way, look like they've aged about 20 years from their living, breathing counterparts).

For the love of God, who at Gillette thought this was something worth investing in? How did it get by the first brainstorming session? Who would even waste time thinking of something so monumentally stupid?

I look forward to their future razor designs; the Gillette Equestrian, for people that ride horses... or the Gillette Ignition, for people that lose their car keys a lot.

Thoughts?

If it wasn't battery operated I would buy it on principle alone.

Why did it got a battery anyways? I mean I have a quattro without a battery and it still works lol. Well if they want to stick to the battery-using thing and appeal to gamers, they should add an accellerometer and some buttons and make the thing Wii compatible Razz.

...

/brb dying

...back now, well then. That was certainly a strange thing to see. What are they going to do next, I wonder? I mean, not all gamers are guys, and they make products for women too. I wonder if I'll be seeing the femme razor on my shelves next.

...in fact, if I see this shit in my store, I'm going to take a picture of it as proof that this wtf-inducing product does in fact exist. This is up there with the most WTF of products like the anime hair gel that Fructis had.

LOL CONGRATS.

Also, I wish I were kidding about that hair gel. I really do. Though, it's actually hair putty. Close enough, I guess.

WTH? 5 bladed battery-powered shaving razor? No thank you. I'm happy with disposable 3 bladed originals (happened to be Gillette).
If want something ultimate than original razor, go purchase the chainsaw and start practice shaving with it.
