Some I can think of:

- Little Samson (NES; fun platformer with nice graphics)
- Soul Blazer Trilogy (SNES, in case you didn't know Very Happy)
- MediEvil series (PSX, PSP)
- Alundra (PSX; gorgeous adventure game, Zelda-like but more challenging and with a more obscure story)
- Suikoden II (PSX; in a time where 2D was outdated, I think it's more fun than a Final Fantasy)
- Tomba!/Tombi games (PSX, so fun platformers!)

Medievil was an amazing game series. I only got about halfway through the first game, but it was incredibly fun.

Now that I've started playing it again, I might add Bully here.

It got a lot of pre-release hype thanks to Joke Thompson, but it doesn't seem to make many people's list of "hey, this is a good one" games.

It's genuinely amusing (not necessarily hilarious, but a few good laughs here and there), and it's written really well. I'm sure most people knew at least one person like each character in the game growing up, and a lot of the situations probably seem familiar too. It's a lot easier to relate to the characters because we lived it 10 years ago... you don't feel like you're just controlling any old character doing any old thing.

The voice acting is surprisingly well done, too. Helps make the characters seem more like we remember from our own adolescence.

For those who haven't played it, I'd highly recommend it. Scholarship Edition, if you can find it. It's got more features than the PS2 release.

It's like a massively toned-down GTA (GTA meets boarding school, slingshots and stinkbombs rather than guns, and people are 'knocked out' rather than 'killed'), but it's much more fun than it sounds.

And it's really easy to spend the whole day (game-day, that is) just picking fights with people. Very Happy

Bully did seem interesting.

While I have the floor, can any body tell me what the deal was with Little Big Planet? Now granted this is anything but an under-rated game (it won like 7 awards), but I'm debating playing it.

Sorry that this is off topic and all.

This guy I know just told me about this Tell-Tale game called Sam & max. Apparently its an episodic game (literally. They have "seasons" and episodes"). He's gonna burn me a demo. It sounds interesting. Anybody ever hear of it?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YOU DO NOT KNOW SAM AND MAX? O_O where the hell did you live like 15 years ago? Very Happy

and yes, epic! sam&max: hit the road - one of the most hilarous adventures i have ever played... wacky and sometimes completely senseless Very Happy love it!

oh btw: the new parts (seasons and episodes) of sam&max aren't THAT good... i was actually quite disappointed =/

I've been considering picking that up as well. I watched the cartoon as a kid. Easily one of the funniest shows EVER.

secret of mana 2. it was way better than som1, and the best mana-game ever.

also majoras mask, it's a really good and entertaining zelda. the graphics were beautiful for the N64.

I always was under the impression that Seiken Densetsu 3 is a popular game.
