While reading up on the game Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, I noticed something that I found rather strange. It seems to me that majority of people, from my experience at the least, are somewhat against the concept of downloading video games. I for one love the idea and think that it is incredibly convenient. Perhaps the people who dislike the concept like the idea of owning a physical copy
Anyways, this just got me thinking about downloading games a little bit more than I ever really bothered to and I thought that I would ask your opinions on the matter. _________________ Touch it and Die

Honestly, I don't see what the problem is. Yeah, when it comes to a major release, I'm gonna want to run to the local shop and purchase a physical item, but as for downloadable games themselves, I'm not against them. Plus, it helps companies get games out we otherwise would not have had the chance to play.
Mega Man 9, for instance, was a fantastic game. And if it weren't for Xbox Live, Wii Ware, and PSN, we wouldn't have gotten it. The only reason Capcom invested in the project was because they could sell it for a reasonable price in a practical manner. _________________

Well, in Japan, they still had to buy and download FFIV: The After (it was a cellphone game much like FFVII: Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Chapters) so we'd be doing the same for The After on WiiWare: buying and downloading. For me, it's no different than downloading a rom, I'm just paying for it this time. Sure, a physical copy would be nice, but when there is no technical physical copy, it doesn't really matter to me. _________________

I have blown more money into the video game industry in my 21 years of life than your average spoiled 12 year old with a rich daddy. I have absolutely no practical qualms against download games over purchasing a hard copy. They work the same and sometimes they're more convenient (downloaded games never get scratched).
When it comes to download ROMS as opposed to purchasing games, while morally there is an obligation to pay, yadda yadda yadda my believe is that if you have at one time purchased a copy of said game you have unlimited download rights. _________________ Support me on Patreon!

as long as you can download the game unlimited times, it's okay. my computers crashed so many times, without hardcopys I'd lost all my games _________________

my approach to downloading games is the same as downloading music.
if i have high expectations of the game, i will have no issue whatsoever with forking out the RRP for it. but if i can download/borrow it when im not sure whether itll be worth it, i download/borrow. _________________
