I likes me some reading.

Not just magazines and the bible neither, we're talking good old fashioned book reading. I just started The Chamber by John Grisham (I LOVE John Grisham novels) and have been re-reading the .hack//Another Story novels (since I'm replaying the series).

I used to read a lot in high school, but mostly just read manga now. Ironically, it was the school's reading program that made me lose interest in reading. Go figure.

Yeah, I had to read about 9 short stories a week last semester and I haven't been able to sit down and actually get into a book for weeks as a result. I don't want to read something with the mindset that I'm going to have a test over it the next day. A shame as I really wanted to read some Dashiell Hammett novels I've had on the shelf for months (and to reread Dracula) this summer.

So mostly I've been reading comic books as of late.
Since Hellsing ended there aren't any mangas I'm following regularly, suppose I could go through more Berserk but I don't want to feel depressed at the moment (don't get me wrong though, it's an amazing series). Guess I'll start searching for another manga to follow soon.

I read what interests me. Of course, I loved my World Literature classes, and I ended up buying a copy of Dante's Divine Comedy because I liked it so much. This semester it was Faust that I really liked, but there were a lot of good stuff I read.

For anyone looking for author recommendations, I'd go for Yann Martel. He writes shorts, and the first story I read? Was about CANNIBALISM (I find cannibalism funny. Yes, I know, I'm terrible.) and it was an interesting story that got me interested in him. I have his short story book The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios. It's really good. Very Happy

I'm a fan of Haruki Murakami as well. I have yet to finish Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, but I can stop and start reading it at any time and still remember what had happened prior to me stopping.

Seriously, reading Don Quixote was amazing (and really funny), and then Divine Comedy was even better. I need to read through it again. Very Happy

I loved the fantasybooks by Wolfgang & Heike Hohlbein when I was a teenager, and I read a lot in my life. I stopped at the age of 17 or so, then read a bit when I was at the army.

On the topic of reading...

Jason, your sig is TOO DAMN LONG. I have to scroll across to read everything someone posts. I will send the internet ninjas after you if I must.

And I've always wanted to read Don Quixote, but never did get around to it. It seemed like a hilarious read.

My resolution is at its peak, actually. I don't have a widescreen monitor.

...... I don't know whether to Laughing, Scared or Eerr/WTF at this.

As for me, the last couple of books I remember reading were To Kill a Mockingbird, and Mila 18 (the latter being a story of Jewish people in a Nazi camp). Those were for high school years ago; I don't read much these days.

I did read a couple of old kids books from when I was a child, just for the nostalgia.
