if I was an animal of a seriously endangered species, I'd send PETA humane human catcher so they can catch obama and release him, then going back to work.

Oh, for the love of...

The man swatted a fly, and PETA wags their finger and says "no, no".

I find it just a little difficult to believe that these people haven't killed flies, squashed spiders or swatted mosquitoes. A human and a fly are not equal.

Now this seriously made me ROFL; animal rights activists telling the President not to swat flies? So what?

I catch moths in my hand (snatch them out of the air in mid-flight) and squish them in my hand. Flies, moths, and the like....do they actually contribute towards the ecology, or are they what we've thought all along - simple pests? I think they're just pests, and deserve to be squished.

And if PETA turn on me, I'll go after them with a giant fly-swatter! Laughing

My uncle used to shoot flies out of the sky with rubber bands. Eek! He was a hella good aim.

Yeah, I believe in treating animals ethically, but killing a pest in a relatively humane manner is not the same offense as say what Michael Vick did (with the dogfighting). And no matter what you say, humans and animals aren't on the same level... except cats. Cats are actually better than humans. Smile

Yeah, there's way too many fucking flies anyways. They are pests and a health liability outside the lab, so really, killing them would be a good thing.

You see there is a slight difference. I think deliberately going out and hunting down flies is not only a waste of time, but psychotic. But if a fly is buzzing around me, he shall face 3 ounces of plastic terror. Evil or Very Mad

Very true. No-one in their right mind would try to eradicate ALL flies, you simply couldn't do it. But when they become a nuisance - ie. when they're buzzing right up in your face - that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Similarly, I don't randomly hunt down all mice; but when they're scurrying around my house, I have no compunctions at all about cornering them and stuffing them in glass jars. (Srsly; we tried releasing them outside, but they just came back into the house). I would say that's humane way of killing the pests - not quick, but humane.

Pffft, I say dunk the vermin in a jar of acid. They seem to love pissing on the electronics. Mad

My dad caught one mouse, he tried to push it into a coke bottle to dispose of it. The mouse resisted, and, well....we learnt exactly how fragile a mouse's body is. Both of us spent the next half-hour disinfecting our hands. Eek! Surprised

Confused

PETA has nothing better to do, obviously. So they go OMG HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO A FLY, MR. PRESIDENT?!

Pretty easily, since it wasn't leaving him alone and he had to get rid of it somehow. Flies are, as Joan said, a health liability. Why would I allow it to keep flying around? Ugh.

As for spiders, I squash those mofos or catch them in a jar if I can. Or, if they try to shower with me (opening the shower door to find one just chilling there makes me go O.O), they get sent down the drain with the water. Very Happy

There are so many spiders living in the walls of my house but they never bite anyone. I wonder if it's fair to keep killing them xD

The PETA is so silly. They think that military leaders should hail flies now. Wuhaa?

I swear, just because they run out of good excuses not to hurt animals, they come up with sucky excuses to make themselves look smart and full of ideas. Yeesh..

Wow.

I did see that interview, but I hadn't heard about PETA. That's epic. I mean, I'll be honest, I could give a crap about animal welfare. I'm not, like, an abusive animal hater or anything, but a fly? Really?

And why is this topic in Showcasing?
