Does anyone else have their eye on this one?

For those who don't know about it, it's an upcoming DS game with a simple premise.

There are Starites. You need to collect the Starites. And you can use pretty much anything you can think of to do it.

Starite in a tree? Summon a beaver (by writing the word) to cut the tree down. Starite get.

Or make a ladder, and climb up. Starite get.

Or make a football, and knock the thing down. Starite get.

I was skeptical of this one at first, because the concept sounds like a blast, but games like this are rarely as open-ended as they claim to be. But after hearing some stories, I'm convinced that they actually have included just about everything. (Apparently, 3 months of the game's development was just the designers thinking up lists of nouns, and some game testers came up with solutions involving combinations the designers never thought of).

So how do you plan to collect the Starite in the tree? I think I'll try catapulting a raw chicken at it.

Anyone else looking forward to it? Cool Guy

You could.

Or you could create a crossbow that fires sausages. Cool Guy

I've even heard one story about someone who summoned God.

Don't have a DS. But Scribblenauts sounds like an awesome game, even having no idea what the game is about. Laughing

A trailer, to give those who hadn't heard of it an idea of what it's like.

The graphics are basic, and cartoony (it's by the same people that made Drawn to Life), but that's partly to help with the development, with the sheer number of things you can make (designing realistic graphics for everything would take forever).

Notice at the end, he summons a police officer, followed by a donut. Nice touch. Cool Guy

Hey...

...Hey Tay...

...Guess what you should do?

GIVE ME THE MONEY TO BUY A DS.

Seriously. Right now.

I HAVE NO MONEY TO BUY A DS. I CAN BARELY PAY RENT!

Laughing Laughing

Besides, a PSP is on my to-buy list over a DS. Then a Wii. Then... if I get around to it, or win it in a raffle... a DSi.

Ok, a PSP is good (not better than a DS, but...)

HOWEVER!

Wii is a waste of money in comparison to a DS!

Just whore yourself out to 50 fat chicks for 100 bucks apiece. Cool Guy

$5,000? That's like every game system ever made with enough left over for a couple of months worth of rent and utilities, plus paying off my $1100 credit card debt.

The idea has merit. Very Happy
