For fucks sake! Thanks for spoiling -.-

Scared shit, sorry... but youll still enjoy how it comes around.

my first view of twilight princess was the final boss battle. the big boy of all spoilers >_<

Don't worry, there's still plenty of excitement left to unfold. Cool Guy

Zelda does need to branch out something fierce. We need the equivalent of a Simarilian of Hyrule, which allows you to play as other characters. Now somebody might make the argument (well each Link and Zelda are different characters with the same names), but let's not get a big head on our shoulders... Call me juvenille, but I've always kinda wanted to see what a semi-modernized (Fable II era) Zelda game would look like. Futuristic or gritty realism Zelda might be a bit too comical.

we should have a zelda game where we can replay the game on another character's point of view after beating it with link, like zelda or ganon. give them weapons and magic and beat the game with them. that'd be fun

You know what I'd like to see? A Zelda game where you have some choice as to what happens. A village is under attack.... do you help them, or leave them?

Most games that give you choices like that usually end up having the story unfold more or less the same way, with a few minor dialogue (and possibly gameplay) changes. I think if you choose to play through like an asshole, there should be consequences. The town may eventually rebuild, but they won't help you. Not helping people means those people end up killed.

Of course, the game still has to be finishable.

Going with that, I'd also say put in more than one ending. The usual "Link saves everyone" ending, but maybe a bittersweet and crappy ending too, where Hyrule gets it's shit ruined (non-canon, of course). Making nasty choices actually screws the kingdom over.

Nintendo would never let that happen to one of their prized franchises, but I still think it would be neat.

I have to avidly disagree. A Fable-esque Zelda would be terrible and stray too far from what Zelda is.

However, I do think a Zelda RPG is in order. For those of you who say it already is an RPG, don't be stupid, you know what I mean. Pbbt The fighting remains the same, but the world map is expanded ala FFXII, and there is a leveling system similar to that of Zelda II. More character involvement and town-specific side quests. Basically what I would like to see is an amalgamation of Twilight Princess, Zelda II, and FFXII.

What I'd really REALLY like to see is a Zelda MMO where you choose what race to play as (Goron, Zora, Knight, Sheikah, Wizard, Moblin, etc.) and the story takes place during one of the wars. But I doubt that would happen... *sigh*

And Zelda is the only character I don't mind seeing in every game, because according to the actual "Legend" every first-born Hylian Princess must be named Zelda.

I don't think it would be any more radical a departure than introducing a new set of characters (as has been suggested).

I'm mostly uneasy about how a multi-layered story (i.e. one with multiple conclusions) would suit the Zelda universe. If there was a clear-set conclusion and alternate ways for it to end for the sake of gameplay diversity alone, maybe.

This kind of reminds me of my attempts back with RPG Maker XP to make a Zelda RPG based on the very first Zelda game (with story elements taken from all games... I mean the map was based on the first.)

And then I wanted to do an RTS based on Zelda. As you can imagine, neither idea panned out.

rts based on zelda wouldnt work very well i dont think. mostly because all the big characters are unique. and what would the generic minions be?

It would be racially based. You could control Hylian, Zoran, Goron, Kokiri or Gerudo civilizations.

that sounds like youve thought a bit about it, then. i suppose there would have to be a lot of creative inventions as to the units though. i mean there arent that many unique traits among those in the games...

Well here are a couple of the ideas I had for units/ techs to research:

Code:

[b]Goron Infanty Units[/b]

Bomb Plant Harvester  --upgrades to--> Roller Bomber
(Strong against buildings, infantry; weak against towers)

Stonethrower  --upgrades to--> Rock Roller
(Strong against infantry; weak against buildings, towers)

Groundpounder --upgrades to-->Earthquaker
(Strong against towers; weak against infantry)

[b]Hylian Infanty Units[/b]

Soldier  --upgrades to--> Ball & Chain
(Strong against Infanty; weak against buildings, towers)

Knight  --upgrades to--> Paladin
(Strong against Cavalry; weak against infantry)

Arcerh --upgrades to--> Fire Arrow
(Strong against towers, infantry; weak against Cavalry)

[b]Kokori Infantry Units[/b]

Slingshotier  --upgrades to--> Deku Nut Thrower
(Strong against Infantry; weak against Cavalry)

Boomerangier --upgrades to--> Double Boomerangier
(Strong against Cavalry; weak against Infantry)

[b]Gerudo Infantry Units[/b]

Scimitar  --upgrades to--> Dual Scimitar
(Strong against infantry; weak against towers)

Heavy Scimitar --upgrades to--> Ironknuckle
(Strong against Cavalry, infantry; weak against buildings, towers)

[b]Zora Infantry Units [/b]

River Scout --upgrades to--> River Warrior
(Strong against infantry; weak against fire-based attacks)

[b]Hylian Techs[/b]

Triforce Worship
(Improves HP of all units; allows you to summon Hero character Zelda and Link)

[b]Gerudo Techs[/b]

Chosen One
(Improves HP of all units; allows you to summon Hero character Gannondorf and Nabooru)

Those are just a few of the ideas I had.

pls no leveling in zelda. I always appreciated to play a good game without the pressure of leveling. different races would be awesome, MM somehow did this in a way, and I always thought that to be one of the best points of the game.

Instead of Kokiri use Deku. The Kokiri are a non-warring race.

Plus, if you need small infantry-like units, the Deku would be more suited anyway.
