Moogles are just that annoying non-human sidekick you're forced to put up with when they're around.
Chocobos have a use. _________________

I never had a use for him. I'd save him from dying and teach him his Water Rondo, just because both could be lost forever if you don't. But he never got used. _________________

Chocobos. Because birds are beautiful and I also like their theme, it's so hummable. |

Moogles! I love my moogle in FFXI, and they're coming out with an addon for FFXI where they're the stars of their own mini-expansion. Plus, you get moogles wearing sunglasses and looking awesome. How can you NOT think they're badass? _________________

Moogles have the save game use at least in FFIX, so they have a use in that the game would be (basically) unbeatable without them XD.
Moogles are cuter to me, but Chocobos are good to. |

Final Fantasy 6 had several playable characters that, while not exactly redundant, weren't necessary. Sadly, Mog is listed among them in my mind, along with Umaro, Gau, Relm and Strago.
Of course that's because my party pretty much consisted of either Terra/Celes, Edgar/Cyan, Sabin/Setzer, and Locke (Love me that steal feature, plus he's my fav. character).
It's not that Mog wasn't useful in combat. It's just that, like Umaro and Gau, he was essentially a "rage" character and you lost control of him after making your initial selection. Plus which he joins too late in the party to be seriously considered a heavy arm or veteran of your main party.
In contrast, Chocobos join your battle party in Final Fantasy Tactics and can deal some major freakin' damage early on in the game! _________________ Support me on Patreon!

Mog is such a powerful and useful character though, if you take the time to use him. Granted, if I have Edgar, Sabin, Terra, and Gogo, I don't need anyone else, but I wouldn't compare Mog to Umaro and Gau.
After all, Gau was voted the most useless character in all of Final Fantasy. _________________

Gau? Really? If I would have guessed, I would have thought Relm easily. Gau has the potential to be good, its just a waste of time to get him up to that level. Relm always just seemed like a character who was completely useless. _________________ Touch it and Die
