Yeah, so this topic was already done, but we've got some new faces so let's do it again.

My response in 2007 was Ninja, but I've changed. Maybe it's the Alestorm talking, but lately I've been in more of a Pirate mood. So, yeah. My vote goes to Pirate.

Generic Pirate = Tetra the Pirate (Zelda: Wind Waker)

Tetra the Pirate is secretly Princess Zelda

Princess Zelda is a descendant of Princess Zelda (Zelda: Ocarina of Time)

Princess Zelda (OoT) took on the persona Sheik, the last remaining survivor of the Sheikah Tribe

Sheik, and the Sheikah Tribe, are ninjas

Ergo, Pirates = Ninjas

Hmm...

Well if you think about it, Ninja's were the revoluntionary "freedom fighters" of ancient Japan. They used cloak-and-dagger type weapons and fought against Samurai.

Pirates (as we know the stereotype) are European, usually Spanish or British, who disregarded the authority of governments and survived by plundering trade vessels.

There are similarities to be sure. Ninjas are just eastern pirates, and vice versa.

I think we've reached a breakthough. This is a glorious day for the PVN debate...

Depends on what kind of ninja.

Real ninja used covert tactics to assassinate. That included disguising themselves as a member of the group they were infiltrating (and doing a damn good job, having observed them so thoroughly). In that case, a ninja could just pass himself off as a pirate and slowly kill them off before they knew it was him.

If you mean the ones that dress in exaggerated kabuki-stagehand costumes in broad daylight and prefix every attack with "KI-YAIIIII!!", then my vote goes to the pirates.

Besides, pirates had guns.
