My Pokemon Blue Speedrun

so heres the boring backstory:

one of my friends had made a bet with another one of my friends. if the guy could finish pokemon blue in under 5 hours, he would win $10. of course, no glitches of any kind were allowed.

upon hearing this, i decided to try it for myself, just for the fun of it.

and here are my results:



thats a snapshot of me in the elite 4 hall of fame.

this speedrun isnt world-class, there is faster. but i didnt use a guide or anything. except some fun trick i borrowed from youtube once (and no, i didnt cheat, its all legit ).

Damn. It usually takes me ten to twenty hours, but then every time I play it, I fight every trainer and hunt out every item.

this is basically a minimalist run. i only fight the trainers i need to, and i dont bother picking up any items (except potions and antidotes at the start of the game)

world record is around 1:20 with full glitching, 2:15 with absurd amounts of save state abuse, and about 2:50 in a single session without save states.
