The meeting in Liotto - commission pic (08/09/09)

So, I recently commissioned Karosu-Maker at deviantART, he's one of our fellow fans of Terranigma. I saw he had a fairly kick-ass pic already of Ark and the Elder looking down (up?) into the abyss leading to the Overworld, and I just couldn't resist commissioning him for a TN pic of my own.

What I chose was the point in the game where Ark bumps into Meilin in Liotto. That's pretty much all I said when I asked him to draw it, and he produced this following pic from that one sentence.

I think he did a great job on Meilin's lovestruck expression (she's completely oblivious to the fact she just lost her candyfloss, too), and Ark's look too, as though he's quite probably thinking "Oh great, not HER again!" And I personally feel Meilin is looking really cute.



O, and for reference, I voted for Princess Elle, 'cos I think Meilin and PEREL would make a pretty cute couple (another pic I'm planning to make will be Meilin/Perel).

Yeah, the eyes in this one are cool. This artist really knows how to do eyes - plus he had the added bonus of being a fellow Terranigma lover, so he could put that extra little zest into the drawing.

Why do you say it has something paedo-ish though, Blade? Meilin has a fairly typical crush on a cool older boy at this time in the game, and Ark just sees her as like the bratty little sister he never had.

Not really. He's supposed to be about, what, 15? And she's supposed to be about 10, I'd say? That's not that much. I know at least one girl who was a member of my Scout Troop who had a similar crush on me, with about the same amount of age gap involved. Sadly, not one of the girls I liked...
