5 Hour Energy Shot

Oh my goodness I did not think it was possible to be so wired. But I am. I have just taken a 5 Hour Energy Shot. I used to drink half-bottles all the time to the point where I built up an immunity to them. I stopped taking them for like 8 months and then tonight decided to try a full shot.

The only way I can describe it is a mental disconnect. Mentally I'm still tired, but physically I could run a mile and not be phased. Time seems to move faster, I'm slightly jittery and damn it, I'm AWAKE. Like bloodshot eyes opened by metal hooks awake.

Damn this feels weird! But at least I won't fall asleep at the switch!

Yeah it's my first one in 8 months and then I only did half shots for fear of Mr. and Mrs. Heart Attack (and I did them like no more than twice within a week).

I only took a full shot tonight because if I fall asleep I will lose this job and be up a certain creek without a paddle.

My left arm is tingling however and my chest feels like 1000 knives of fire are stabbing me in the rib cage...

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to have over 8300% of your daily intake for anything.

There have been times I could use a boost at work, and always wondered if those 5 hour things worked.

But it sounds like it could very well kill me, and that could put a damper on the day.

How do I know?

A co-worker of mine did five back to back, and he was fine.

The first time I took this stuff, I'd already been up for 24 hours- I was tired. Now, I was in that, I'm awake but everything is blurry tired. When it kicked in, everything refocused. I wasn't necessarily "Awakened." I was, instead, aware. I was aware that I existed, aware that I was still standing, but not much else. Now, I use it only to stay awake when I need to.

And this one's not bad. I saw a shot that contained almost double that (15,000) in Vitamin B12 er something.

i think those stuff would be categorized as heavy drug around here even though the austrians gulp more energy drinks than any other country in the world (messured with litres/inhabitants)

@SBF: Wow. That's insane.

@All: I'm not like a crack-head who's all hopped up on Energy Shot... well anymore. I just take it when I need a pick-me-up for my overnight shift and this was the first I'd taken in 8 months.

@Freedan: This definitely works. As long as you don't have a pre-existing heart condition, it will wake your ass up. You'll still feel mentally exhausted (this is no replacement for sleep), but physically you'll be great.

@Blade: This tastes a hell of a lot better than Red Bull. It tastes like even more sugary Crystal Light if that helps. If I didn't know what would happen to me if I did so, I could honestly drink this thing by the 16 Oz. bottles.

I drink energy drinks in small moderations. One Red Bull and I'm good for a while. I once drank a bunch of caffeine in one day: a bunch of pepsi, then a different energy drink (don't remember which) at work. Suffice to say, my hands were shaking worse than Michael J. Fox's hands, I couldn't write on anything I was supposed to, and I felt really sick.

I don't do energy drinks.

i dont drink coffee, or energy drinks. i do enjoy coke though.

i will drink energy drink under one condition: its part of a jagerbomb ^^
