I know this a totally random thing to say abruptly, but has anybody else noticed that the weather this year has been screwy? We had a pretty cool summer and so far our fall was tepid at best. Our winter is probably going to be warmer than usual to boot.
Like here in Virginia, we barely broke the 90 degree mark during summer, and it's November now and our lows are in the high 50s. What gives? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

We had a nice two weeks of Summer up here. The rest of it felt like Spring/Fall weather.
It dropped down to near freezing temperatures last week, and even snowed a couple of times (though it's not cold enough to stay on the ground). Now, for the next couple of days, it's going to be 13-15 degrees (that's in the 50-60 F range, for you American folks).
It's been a messed up year. _________________

The weather has been odd in Arkansas as well.
The summer wasn't as hot as usual, and we've gone back and forth between cold and warm weather very frequently since early September.
Arkansas has rather eclectic weather, but this is even more so than usual. _________________

See, Nevada has some really awesome weather. It's the one thing that keeps me wanting to stick around, despite wanting to get out. We have Clap On, Clap Off weather. I've seen it snow in every single month here except for August (though I've heard from customers at the store who have been here 40+ years, that it has snowed in August.) I've seen it go from sunny, to raining, to snowing, and then back to a warm sunny day ALL IN ONE DAY.
...suffice to say though, during this time last year, it was the coldest we got all damn year. This year? The mid-mornings to the early evenings are at least 70 degrees fahrenheit. So I think everyone around Reno has been going "Lol Nevada. <3" for the past month or so. Not a week ago it was snowing. :/ _________________

It's been freezing here in Jersey. No snow yet, though. The summer was odd, I will say that- it was cool for the most part, and then the last two weeks were ridiculously hot, and then, it was like Spring weather for a week- really cool, nice out- then over a weekend last month, we got hit with a minor hurricane followed by a noreaster, if that's how you spell it.
EDIT: Might I add, being so close to the coast causes some whacky weather. It can be fifty out with a windchill factor of like 31 degrees. It gets COLD.

arizona's been friggen hot as usual. the air gets so dry and hot during the summer its just claws down on your skin >_< and then it gets cold, then warm, then cold again in the fall. when winter comes around, you still dont need jackets.
it's quite normal over here ¬_¬ |

It's been messed up here too. The last few years, summertime was breaking 35C/95F in the south of the UK. This year it never got above the high 20s, and even then it didn't last as long. Also, IIRC, the hottest weather that there was started in April/May, and lasted through to July, while last year the heatwaves started more in about late-May/June and went into early October.
I do think a somewhat more pleasant temperature in wintertime is possible, though it would also be very unusual. |
