The only problem I had with my ps1 was that after about 2 years it had problems with audio quality. It became all staticy... But this was also a flea market playstation so I think it lasted a good while. ^_^
As for the ps3 backward compatability thing, maybe they will be releasing a gaggle of new games for it. Or it might be able to take UMD's.
I just think Sony has better logic than to let that happen. _________________

No big problems with my ps1, only "problem" is that the Open button tends to stick. _________________

after about four years one bit of the black spinnery thing broke off for me ... luckily it wasn't one of the parts that held it on and didn't seem to affect anything ... other than that its perfect
and the ps2 tray thingy makes funny noises now when it opens and closes ... i think thats due to the vast amount of dust that gathers on it between each game i play on it _________________ It's high time I revised this signature. |

I'm not sure if Square-Enix will ever consider remaking Final Fantasy 7, as appealing as that sounds. I think they may adapt Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children into a game though.
More likely than both is nothing whatsoever. _________________ I am... |

I think I heard it off G4...
That channel can be so much pleasure and pain. _________________

Well, I know a few places said that Advent Children would be bundled with a remake of FF7, and to quote SquareNation:
squarenation.com wrote: | I heard that this DVD-movie was bundled with a remake of FF7...
This is untrue. I believe this rumour started with a magizine that printed information a little prematurely and got their facts wrong. There will be no remake with FF7:AC. |
As for an actual remake... I'll check some more. _________________

My GI magazine printed something about it but they said it was just going to be the same as it was on ps1 _________________

There's the answer. That could mean "There will be if FF:AC sells well like we know it will" or a "No, we know FF:AC will sell well, but we're not going to remake the game." _________________

Not really... it's probably a good idea, as much as everyone would love it. They're probably thinking business over what the fans want. Only the absolute die-hard fans or collectors would buy it. Most of the public would think "Psh, who cares if they remade it? I can get the original for $10, why waste $50 on a game I can get $40 cheaper?" _________________

They would still lose money over it, and that's one thing they don't want is to lose all that money. _________________

I don't think a remake would sell that bad, if it was just a re-release then probubly yeah. _________________
