But we pay 98 - 103 €-cent/liter...
Ok, gasprices in Europe are usually higher than in America, but imagine paying more than 110 $-cent..... |

I remember hearing that in England, it's pretty bad. After the currency exchange, it works out to be about $1.95 / liter in Canajan cash. That was quite a while ago that I read that, so it's probably gotten worse. _________________

Oil prices I doubt are going up because of the war in Iraq. I think it's more because of good old fashioned profit techniques. In a country like America and Canada, where EVERYONE making money has a car, the market is huge and I think the distributors in Saudi Arabia are exploiting that, not just here but everywhere.
Mostly in the states, though. You are against a Jihad, you know. And who pretty much runs things in Saudi Arabia? Ayatollah Khamenei, my friends. Religious leader of the people, right under the president.

Maybe if we stop exporting Oil and keep ours for ourselves rather than buy it from halfway across the world. Bad theory, I know, but hey...You never know :p
I don't think they'll drop. Not with so much Anti-Americanism going on in the middle east. _________________ I am... |

Prices will not drop because it isn't profitable. Even if they were getting the stuff for cheap (say, $10 a barrel.... unrealistic, but it's just an example), we wouldn't be getting those savings. It's a method of taxation. And since people generally can't get by without their cars, it's an unavoidable taxation.
And it's not like I haven't done my homework on this one. Figure this:
A barrel is typically 42 gallons (I'll keep this in U.S. measurements). It costs the U.S. what...? $57/barrel these days?
Raini said earlier that the price was $2.59/gallon.
That means a barrel costs $108.78 in U.S. cash.
Guess who's footing the bill for that one? $50 price hike.
I realize there's the refining process involved to turn oil in to gas, and operation costs and all, but we're talking nearly twice the price.... and they predict it's going to get worse.
That crying sound you heard is probably your wallet. _________________

that why Scientists are finding a way to use Hydrogen as a fuel
not only is it abundant it also exhausts a safe compound of H2O
instead of Carbon Monoxide CO _________________ You're just a human being, my dear, sweet child |

I am sure it has a little to do with the war in Iraq, but I am assuming 95% of it has to do with people who live by themselves who drive those stupid humvees/hummers around who get 7 miles to the gallon. If I see one more person driving a giant SUV with 6 seats along, I am going to lose my mind. _________________

I'm thinking we make cars that don't NEED gas so we don't have to worry about the price...
But then the price of fixing the car would go up. >< _________________

Lol, mehcanics are already thieves, it costs so much money to repair stuff these days. They want 60-100 dollars an hour PLUS parts prices and shipping and bullshit like that...At least if Gas prices went down it would be a less strain on the wallet, but the people with older cars still have to take them in for repairs alot. _________________ I am... |

Some mechanics boosts the bill by damage any parts before tell owner those parts need ciritcal repairs. I saw them do it on hidden cameras in realty tv shows.
My mom's car ,'01 Lancer, had radiator with bad leak and wont start. So she had it fixed at dealer place while it's still under warranty. Costs to fix the car? Almost $5,000 to fix ALL parts in car! But mom dont pay for them because of warranty still in effect. PLUS mom get free rental car while her car is in repairing. We're glad about pick that car from used auto lot. _________________

that's why WE SCIENTISTS ARE TRYING TO MAKE HYDROGEN FUELLED CARS?!?!?!?
anyway
they're is this white filter somewhere in the exhaust of your car, stab a few holes in it, first it'll run smooth as, by the end of a few months, the car is completely farked and then it needs to be repaired again _________________ You're just a human being, my dear, sweet child |
