The Territory Incident: A Brief Historical Account
By Jason Tandro
This brief essay shall give you a general idea of what happened in the Territory Incident.
Part I: The Backdrop
The TerraEarth Timeline wrote: |
Union of Kingdoms Treaty First Presented- 255 T.D.
The first attempt at bridging the social and economic gaps between the kingdoms of TerraEarth was the Union of Kingdoms Treaty. However, it was rejected due to severe complications that could not be overcome. In specific, it denounced slavery and demanded the uniformity of currency, something with the gold loving Dao could not accept.
The one thing that was agreed upon was the dependence of the three major continents, North, South and East to be united under one banner. These kingdoms agreed to help defend the crown of the current administrator.
|
It was here that the troubles that would eventually become what the TerraEarthian Government refers to as the "Territory Incident" and what former citizens of the Disputed Territory refer to as the "War of Expansion".
The North, East, and South Continent all agreed to be unified under one banner, but the Disputed Territory, whose original continent name is lost to the ages, held out, finding their hereditary line to be more than sufficient.
Part II: The Surprise Attack of Kineti
The TerraEarth Timeline wrote: |
Territory Incident- 327 T.D.
The Disputed Territory far to the south of the South Continent had trouble of its own. The kingdom was ruled by a hereditary regal bloodline, and local warlords were tired of it. They slaughtered countless lives in an attempt to erase all sign of the royal bloodline. The small village of Kineti was the first one to be hit.
Due to an extremely effective spy network, relief from boxxleman's army arrived within 24 hours, deploying from South Cape. boxxleman himself saved Rainichan and took her to South Cape at this time.
|
Here the failure of the royal guard to protect the royal bloodline became evident. This royal blood has served them from many days and was believed to stem from a long past civilization. The warlord of Paninske sought to erase this line and claim it as his own.
A spy from "The Company" had been dispatched earlier to check on the situation, and arrived in time to see the siege of the city begin. As the timeline says, relief arrived within a day, and the army drove back the sieging army from Kineti, although the majority of the population had still been destroyed.
Part III: The Skirmish on the Helray Bluffs
The TerraEarth Timeline wrote: |
Aoiga served on the front lines as a Bladesman.
|
Aoiga was serving as a Bladesman. In those days, the order of military heirarchy went Pikeman, Bladesman, Halberdier, Bowman and Rifleman, and then the officer ranks. The idea being a soldiers worth was equivalent to his weapon. He sought to help his struggling comrades on the front lines of Helray Bluffs, and defended both his camp and his allies using his squad as a weapon of war.
Part IV. The Siege of Paninske
The TerraEarth Timeline wrote: |
Aoiga served on the front lines as a Bladesman and eventually took control of the unit that won the decisive victory at the Tarrago Castle in the city of Paninske, which has long-since been torn down.
To those who came into TerraEarth's government after their continent was destroyed by the war, this "incident" is known as the War of Expansion. Some conspiracy theorists believe that it was all a hoax perpetrated by the government in order to bring all the kingdoms under one crown. |
The final attack was at Paninske. The details of this battle have been kept mostly secret by the government, but certain soldiers tend to brag.
Part V. The Post-War TerraEarth
The TerraEarth Timeline wrote: |
Union of Kingdoms Treaty Ratified- 332 T.D.
Almost 100 years after it was first presented, the treaty was finally ratified. Slavery was abolished and the planetary currency was made the Gem. This was also when eFlare took control of the Tower of Babel, becoming the first human to be made an administrator.
During this time, eFlare suggested making TerraEarth open to visitors from all worlds and all dimensions. boxxleman created many temples and portals which allowed visitors from many worlds to arrive.
Strangely, though, some of these outsiders have often referred to it as a "game", something which many residents find confusing, but dismiss as lingual complications. |
