Here's a basic idea of everything you need to know about the game:

Section I. Starting Races

Players may start as a variety of races.

Human
Standard, non-infected characters who fight for the survival of their species.

Zombie
If you are a zombie, you are the leader of your own Zombie Army, though you can learn to control other species. You seek destruction and chaos.

Werewolf
If you are a werewolf, you lead a small pack. You can choose to satisfy your bloodlust or try to control your outbreaks and search for a cure.

Vampire
If you are a vampire, you are alone. You can choose to satisfy your bloodlust or try to control your thirst and search for a cure.


Section II. Human Starting Packages

Only humans can use weapons, gear, and cash. Here are the starting packages for levels 1-5.

Level 1. Civilian

Package A- Warrior
Weapon: Shotgun (24 shells)
Gear: First Aid Kit

This has the best weapon in terms of power, but its not reusable. This is for the person who doesn't really care if they live, but they want to take out some of those damn zombies before they go.

Package B- Survivor
Weapon: Steel Pipe
Gear: First Aid Kit, Medicine Kit, Vitamins

Not the best weapon, but its reusable and with the medicine and vitamins you will be sure to last a long time.

Package C- Hunter
Weapon: Fireman's Axe
Gear: First Aid Kit, Flashlight/Lantern, Rope

This package is for the person who wants to explore. Maybe there is hope somewhere out there in that dismal world...

Level 2. Soldier

Scout
Weapon: Modified SPR4 (60 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced First Aid Kit, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $100 every round.

Standard retrieval soldier, outfitted for light combat. You move faster, and bad stuff can't catch you, but if you get cornered, you're not as well prepared.

Infiltrator
Weapon: Modified M10 Automatic Shotgun (30 Holy Shells)
Gear: Holy Grenades (4), Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $100 every round.

Great for missions where your job is to wipe things out. You can take on just about anything, but you aren't good at saving people... except yourself.

Field Medic
Weapon: Modified 9mm Pistol (45 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced Medicine Kit, Advanced First Aid Kit, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $100 every round.

Your job is to protect a set area and help other teams. Mainly a support role, but you could hold your own with some on-sight procurement.

Level 3. Special Forces

To enter the special forces, you must be Staff Sergeant or higher.

Recon Soldier
Weapon: Modified Uzi (60 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced First Aid Kit, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $300 every round (+rank bonus)

Advanced retrieval soldier, outfitted for light combat. You move faster, and bad stuff can't catch you, but if you get cornered, you're not as well prepared.


Demolitions Expert
Weapon: Modified Sawed-Off (30 Holy Shells)
Gear: Holy Grenades (Cool, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $300 every round (+rank bonus).

Great for missions where your job is to wipe things out. You can take on just about anything, but you aren't good at saving people... except yourself.

Doctor
Weapon: Modified 9mm (45 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced Medicine Kit (3), Advanced First Aid Kit (3), Surgery Kit, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $300 every round (+rank bonus).

Your job is to protect a set area and help other teams. Mainly a support role, but you could hold your own with some on-sight procurement.

Level 4. Elite Soldiers

To become an Elite Soldier, you must have reached Sergant Major and been approved for the program.

Cavalry
Weapon: Modified Uzi (60 Holy Bullets), Modified 9mm Pistol (60 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced First Aid Kit(3), Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $600 every round (+rank bonus)

Elite retrieval soldier, outfitted for light combat. You move faster, and bad stuff can't catch you, but if you get cornered, you're not as well prepared.


Heavy Arms
Weapon: Modified RA6B Grenade Launcher (30 Holy Grenades), Modified Sawed-Off (30 Holy Shells)
Gear: Holy Grenades (Cool, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $600 every round (+rank bonus).

Great for missions where your job is to wipe things out. You can take on just about anything, but you aren't good at saving people... except yourself.

Scientist
Weapon: Modified Uzi (60 Holy Bullets), Modified 9mm (45 Holy Bullets)
Gear: Advanced Medicine Kit (6), Advanced First Aid Kit (6), Surgery Kit (3), Vitamins, Field Compass, Field Flashlight
Salary: $600 every round.
Your job is to protect a set area and help other teams. Mainly a support role, but you could hold your own with some on-sight procurement.


Level 5. The Guardians

The Guardians are the highest group of evil hunters. Only a select few will be graced to join them. Each Guardian is given a unique weapon and unique gear suited to his/her special talents and abilities.


Section III. Traits

Traits usually only affect humans, but certain ones affect the other races as well.

Keen Senses
You are able to hear and see incredibly well, even in the dark. This makes you more alert and quicker to respond as well.

Athletic
You are strong and fast. That means you can put up a great fight... or you can run like the wind.

Intelligent
You are smarter than most. This means you can think of unorthodox solutions to problems and have knowledge that others might lack.

Religious
Just like in real life, this gift may seem useless... but miracles do seem to happen... You also carry a symbol of your faith, which does have some immediate uses.

Atheistic
Bound in reason, Demon and Ghost enemies will have less of an effect on you... however the gods will not smile upon you.

Martial Arts
Your entire body becomes a weapon, and should you be unarmed, or your weapons rendered useless, you will be able to defend yourself.

Psychic
You can read minds, see into the future, and perceive the distant. A very useful skill.

Psychokinesis
You can move things with your mind and damage enemies with your will alone.


Section IV. Inventory

Weapons

Kitchen Knife ($5)
Small knife, basic tool of survival.
Attack power: (1d4)
Strong against: None.
Weak against: None.

Steel Pipe ($5)
Standard steel pipe, good for bashing brains.
Attack power: (1d6)
Strong against: Zombies.
Weak against: Werewolves.

Fireman’s Axe ($5)
Multi-purpose axe.
Attack power: (1d6)
Strong against: Humans
Weak against: Vampires.

9 mm Pistol (uses Bullets…$75)
Standard 9mm gun.
Attack power: (1d10)
Strong against: Humans.
Weak against: Ghosts.

Silver Cross ($80)
Large silver cross.
Attack power: (1d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Demons.
Weak against: Ghosts, Humans, Zombies, Ju-On.

Hunting Rifle (uses Bullets…$100)
Almost oversized rifle.
Attack power: (2d6)
Strong against: Zombies.
Weak against: Werewolves.

Shotgun (uses Shells…$150)
Double-barreled in all its glory.
Attack power: (2d6)
Strong against: Zombies, Humans, Werewolves.
Weak against: Ghosts, Ju-On.

Modified 9mm Pistol (uses Holy Bullets...$200)
Usefully modified pistol.
Attack power: (2d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: Humans.

Modified Uzi (uses Holy Bullets...$300)
Modified sub-machine gun.
Attack power: (2d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: None.

Modified M10 Automatic Shotgun (uses Holy Shells...$450)
Modified shotgun.
Attack power: (3d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: None.

Modified SPR4 (uses Holy Bullets...$600)
Specially modified assault rifle.
Attack power: (3d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: None.

Modified Sawed-Off (uses Holy Shells...$750)
Specially modified sawed-off shotgun.
Attack power: (3d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: None.

Modified RAB6 Grenade Launcher (uses Holy Grenades...$1000)
Specially modified grenade launcher.
Attack power: (5d6)
Strong against: Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons, Ju-On.
Weak against: None.

Ammunition
Bullets (10 rounds…$10)
Shells (10 rounds…$15)
Holy Shells (10 rounds... $20)
Holy Bullets (20 rounds... $20)
Holy Grenades (1 round...$30) (3d6)



Survival
First Aid Kit ($10)
Treats minor cuts, scrapes and lacerations.

Vitamins ($10)
While carried, stats are slightly boosted.

Advanced First Aid Kit ($30)
Treats major cuts, broken limbs, and bleeding.

Medicine Kit ($30)
Carries some medicine to cure disease. Good for one use and only in infected (<50% HP) cases.

Advanced Medicine Kit ($60)
Carries some medicine to cure the zombie, werewolf and vampiric diseases. Good for one use and only in critical (<10% HP)

Surgery Kit ($60)
If medicine is not taken in time, the surgery kit can be used to surgically treat (or even amputate!) the affected area. (0% HP; HP recovered. ATK -1d6)

Gear
Rope ($5)
You never know when you’ll need it.

Cigarettes ($5)
Cigarettes calm the nerves, but if used excessively they will remove the Athletic and Keen Senses trait.

Lighter ($5)
Used to see in the dark or light cigarettes.

Matches ($5)
Used to light cigarettes or see in the dark.

Flashlight/Lantern ($10)
Used to see in the dark.

Field Flashlight ($15)
Used to see in the dark.

Field Compass ($15)
Used to get your bearing.

Additional Items and Weapons may be created at the whim of the Dungeon Master.

Section V. Monster Upgrades Tree

Zombie Characters

Level 1. Commander
Standard leader unit.
Level 2. Boss (Special conditions)
You now have better control over zombies actions.
Level 3. Ruler (Special conditions)
You are now not weak against anything.
Level 4. Overlord (Special conditions)
You can now read minds and are resistant to weapons.


Zombie Army

Level 1. Shambling Zombies
Standard Zombie Unit
Level 2. Relentless Zombies (20 kills)
Faster Zombie Unit
Level 3. Chainsaw Zombies (50 kills)
Stronger Zombie Unit
Level 4. Enlightened Zombies (100 kills)
Smarter Zombie Unit
Level 5. Hellspawn Zombies (300 kills)
Zombies are not weak against anything.
Level 6. Dark Warrior Zombies (600 kills)
Zombies are more resistant to weapons.
Level 7. Perfect Zombies (1000 kills)
The name of perfection.


Werewolves

Level 1. Werewolves
Standard werewolf.
Level 2. Luna Werewolves (5 feasts)
Werewolves can now transform at will, but always transform at full moon.
Level 3. Flesh Bane Werewolves (15 feasts)
Werewolves are no longer weak to silver.
Level 4. Eclipse Werewolves (50 feasts)
Werewolves have complete control over their transformations.
Level 5. Perfect Werewolves (100 feasts)
Werewolves are resistant to weapons.


Vampires

Level 1. Vampire
Standard vampire unit.
Level 2. Nosferatu Minor (10 bites)
Vampires are healed when they drink blood.
Level 3. Nosferatu Major (25 bites)
Vampires are strengthened when they drink blood.
Level 4. Crimson Bane Vampires (50 bites)
Vampires have psychokinesis and are not weak against anything.
Level 5. Night Hunters (100 bites)
Vampires are stronger at night.
Level 6. Perfect Vampires (250 bites)
Vampires are resistant to weapons.


Ju-On

Level 1. Ju-On
Standard Ju-On unit.
Level 2. Hatred Ju-On (20 retributions)
Ju-On is more effective against the opposite sex.
Level 3. Evil Glee Ju-On (50 retributions)
Ju-On is not weak against anything.
Level 4. Uncontained Ju-On (100 retributions)
Ju-On is not limited to the Affected and its area of death.
Level 5. Perfect Ju-On (250 retributions)
Ju-On is resistant to weapons.


Demon

Level 1. Lesser Demons
Standard Demon unit.
Level 2. Greater Demons (30 captured souls)
Demons are stronger.
Level 3. Elite Demons (75 captured souls)
Demons can teleport and use psycho-kinesis.
Level 4. Demon Lords. (150 captured souls)
Demons can spawn allies of their own volition and are not weak against anything.
Level 5. Dark Kin Demons. (300 captured souls)
Demons will strengthen any other enemy type around them.
Level 6. Perfect Demons. (600 captured souls)
Demons are resistant to weapons.


Ghosts

Level 1. Ghost
Standard ghost unit.
Level 2. Poltergeist. (50 hauntings)
Ghost can now kill.
Level 3. Phantom (100 kills)
Ghosts are not weak against anything.
Level 4. Perfect Ghost (200 kills)
Ghosts are now resistant to weapons.

Geez... and to think it all started as a 'choose your own adventure' style story.

Am I to understand from the massive effort you've put in to the details that you plan on doing another of these things in the future?

thats a lot of detail. and something like this would make a great rp punchup thing. leveling up, and all - with neutral bystanders to level up on.

@Freedan: This all started as an experiment. A while ago I pitched the idea of a D&D style punch-up. Slowly but surely I've added D&D style elements to this choose your own adventure story. So far, I think its a smash hit. I'll let Zombie Holocaust run its course (and believe me, I have no intention of short-changing you guys on the fun), and then make another one of these in the RP Punch-Up section.
