........

So... this is a new one.

http://kotaku.com/5409877/the-one-about-the-guy-who-married-a-video-game

In a nutshell, some guy in Guam married his virtual girlfriend in a dating sim. For real, in a church.

I can't see this being legally binding... well, pretty much anywhere else, but I suppose it counts in Guam.

I'm scared to think what their kids will look like. Neutral

More importantly, what happens if the battery dies on his DS and he hasn't saved his progress?

Well think about it from his point of view:

1. This woman will never complain about all the other men she could have married.

2. This woman will do anything that he want (within her programming capabilities).

3. This woman can't get knocked up.

4. This woman can't give him an STD (though maybe a computer virus).

Sounds like a dream woman to me. Laughing

And she's probably hotter than reality by far.

Actually, that's funny. This isn't the first I've heard of this, either. It'd be weirder if he tried to marry an NPC. Surprised

Ah! ode to the objectum-sexuals!

Ah, america. The land where you can marry anyone or anything, unless they are the same sex as you!

Actually, you can't blame America for this one. This happened in Guam.

What I want to know is: how did this not happen in Japan first?

Attraction to non-living or living things may be natural for humans. But marriage or beyond that is out of question.

I guess Q is right about us. Humans are totally barbarians.

My friend Kristen said the best thing ever:

"You should live your life like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, p/ss on it and walk away."

That's a pretty good summation for the human race right now. Very Happy

[Edit: And that's a good question. If you could marry an object, what would it be?]

^My copy of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. The original, not the DX version. I have said before that if that game manifested itself into a woman I would marry her in a heartbeat, lol.
