There were child Links. Will is like, what? 14?
The only Links that were older than that were from Ocarina, Twilight, Awakening, and the NES Zeldas! (and Will looks older than most of them, as long as you don't consider his Shoujo art! So Rar!) _________________

well, official art is yet another thing that seals it. whereas, legend of zelda official art shows link as a sword-wielding badass.
will? a young little feminine boy wearing a skirt and playing a flute. _________________

Well Link is not badass as in Sonic-badass, but I agree with the above.
How come Tay, LoZelda is your alltime favourite game series, yet you don't like Link?? |

Yeah, sorry, but the official art for IoG (in both Western and Japanese versions of the game) shows Will as being a rather effeminate looking boy playing a flute. Maybe they should've shown him brandishing it as a weapon instead, it would've looked somewhat more manly.
Regardless though, Ark is clearly the most badass, as he's just a regular human who does really badass stuff, while Blazer is a heavenly warrior so you expect him to be tougher from the outset. |

The gameplay and mythology are superb, but the character development and plot progression are complete crap, imo. _________________

LoZ isnt really meant to be a story-driven game. and in terms of those 2, IoG doesnt really shine either.

Hey now. I like to think that Will has a pretty damned awesome flute that doesn't get banged up from beating on monsters. What if it's a flute from the gods or the heavens, huh?
And yes, I'm being completely serious about that. I may love Terranigma the most out of the three, but IoG was the first I played. :/ _________________

That may be, but IoG at least tried to be story driven. It had a great deal of potential. Zelda has only ever been about just gameplay (because really, when has Nintendo ever cared about continuity?) But it's forgivable in Nintendo's case simply because their games remain awesome. _________________

IoG definitely had potential. with better story-telling, that game would have been awesome. not that it wasnt enjoyable already.
and just imo, [lack of storytelling] > [failed storytelling]
lets just divert people's attention with a clever picture:

now your favorite game isn't that story driven, your favorite hero comes from a game that tries to be story driven, what happens when you play terranigma with an awesome story driven hero in the most story driven world?! _________________

Actually, my real favorite video game hero is Kirby, but you raise a good point...
