A tad expensive for a guy who works on the smallest part of your body, but yeah, pretty much.
Of course now that I'm full time, I get dental and health benefits . I need to go because I've got a cavity in the back of this tooth that cuts the crap out of my tongue.
Rather graphic, I know, but it's true. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

The dentist is pricey, but if I were shoving my hands in people's mouths all day, I would want to be well-compensated too.
I hate dentist visits. Every visit is just like the one before it.
"Have you been flossing?"
"No."
"FUCKING DO IT."
"See the way your gums are bleeding?"
"Yes, I do. Maybe if you stopped stabbing at them with those sharp metal hooks, they'd stop. "
Fuck the dentist. Fuck him in the butt. _________________

I'm terrified of the dentist, actually. I don't like the sounds, I don't like what they do, it freaks me out.
Weird Al made it worse for me, too.
That song freaked me out when I first heard it. afyiguhisakfg _________________

For the most part I don't mind. I like the squeaky clean feeling my mouth gets when I leave.
That said, I hate the part with the Fluoride.
The taste of it, the feel of it between your teeth and gums, and worst of all the "whizzz"-ing sound of the "brush" thing they use. *uuggghhyyuhhh* _________________

Ugh, fluoride. It's bad for you and igfshags. I don't get that stuff for my cleanings, so they have to use the other stuff that feels like sandpaper in your mouth. _________________

Dentists can be pricey in the UK if the person wishes to pay to have the treatments done a) quickly and b) well. Otherwise, you can get most dental treatment on the NHS, which is free, but usually not quite done to as high a standard (the dentist is re-imbursed for NHS treatments from the govt, but they don't get as much for those jobs, so they choose not to do them as well).
Me personally, the last time I visited the dentist was about when I was 11 or 12 years old. I'm now 27, so that says something about it. Before that though, I had a bunch of teeth filled during my childhood - and I absolutely hated having a needle jabbed into my mouth, so I never had anaesthetic. Man, that hurt.... >_< |

My dad has one of the worst dentist stories ever (he's terrified of them, won't go to one period.)
He was in the Army and he had a military dentist (who was actually an Air Force Captain... apparently it was a dual-branch post... I'm not sure how that works.)
Anyways the dentist doesn't know what the heck she's doing and inproperly anethestized him. She poked his jaw and asked: "Do you feel that?"
My dad said: "Yeah, I do."
She says: "No you're just feeling pressure."
She then begins to do her work and starts yanking out my dads tooth, with my dad literally screaming in pain. To make matters worse, the dentist is taunting him going:
"Come on, I thought you guys could handle a little pain!"
My dad finally grabs her arm.
She says: "Sergeant let go of my hand!"
To which he says: "Captain let go of my tooth!"
Finally another dentist comes in and gets the job done.
---
A couple years later my dad had to go back to the same dentist and he's talking to this guy about how he hates dentists. This guy goes:
"That's nothing. A few years ago there was this guy who was in so much pain he was screaming."
My dad goes: "Yeah, that was ME!"
"Oh? Well you'll be glad to know that woman got discharged for incompetence!"
[So yeah, my dad doesn't like dentists.] _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

the same happened to me when I was about 8 years old, just that I was enough anesthesized to not be able to talk anymore the dentist pulled out the tooth with me in full pain. he realized what happened when tears were running of my eyes.
he gave me another shot in the gums and pulled out the other 2. I still go to the dentist, just to another one since then _________________
