Just a simple question, more out of curiosity than anything else.
So when you finally die, what do you want done? A traditional funeral? Cremation? Donate your body to science? Or none of the above?
Personally, I think having a funeral for me would be a huge waste of money. The casket, the service, the preparations.... all so a few people could sit around for a while, being depressed. No, thanks.
When I check out, I expect everyone to bring some food, get together, and throw a damn party. Don't be sad that I'm dead, be happy that I lived (and had a pretty good time doing it). Use whatever organs can be saved, and whatever's left of me.... well, it's just an empty shell now.
Maybe cremate what's left and throw me in the eyes of anyone that's pissed me off. Last laugh from beyond the grave. _________________

i dunno how i wanna be buried, but after im a ghost i'll certainly be able to scare certain people for revenge and maaaaybe slay some etheral demons xD
but seriously, after i die, like you said the funeral's kinda pointless. i would like my family to be able to spend they money they do on me to spend on more important stuff, like a new house that isn't a kitty battle zone.
aaaaand yah

I'm of the ideal that there should be a party involved. Yes, a funeral will be sad, but don't talk about the fact that I'm dead, talk about the fact that I was a nutjob in life and recount the weird stuff I did and have good food and laugh. I don't want people to be sad.
then again, being worm food doesn't sound so good. I might go with cremation. I don't know yet. _________________

talking about a party... i always found the idea of having a "funeral meal" gross and somehow awkward... someone's dead and everyone is so sad and next thing you know is everybody stuffs himself. it just doesnt connect.
so either a "classical" funeral with everybody whining and crying and stuff or something new with "yea, he was great, now pass me the vodka"
as for me, id definitely go for the second option. that'd be new, fresh and probably hits the zeitgeist in a few decades too (binge drinking may have a revival, who knows) _________________

A funeral is important for you fellows to get over the loss of you, I don't think I can expect them to have a happy party when I die.
For me, I'd like to donate everything that is possible, and cemate the rest of me, and scatter my ashes at some places that were important for me in life.
I decided that long ago
And yeah, maybe after the scattering, they could have a party and play all the songs I loved. |
