... on the internet, that is the actual question Wink

how do you explore the endless widths of the internet? how do you strive through the thick jungle of TE? what guide have you chosen to battle against pop-ups, ads and other nasty stuff that lurks behind each corner?

IE? firefox? opera? safari? chrome?

i always switch between firefox and opera. currently im only using opera but there were times i used them both

I use opera 10 and I love it.

I've dumped IE because it blows. Firefox wasn't bad, but opera is faster.

IE 8 at work, Google Chrome at home. I use Spybot S&D and Malware Bytes to keep my compy safe. I'm also a surfing multi-tasker. Usually have more than one page open at a time.

Primarily with Firefox. I think it's mostly due to the addons. I would use Chrome (it is ever so slightly faster at rendering, and very much faster at Javascript) but, I can't really be arsed, I like Firefox. Let's say I like the way it feels.

Shockingly though, you are all filthy liars regarding not using IE, because this is what the Forum stats say:

40.00% MSIE 7.0
27.00% Firefox 3.5.7
19.00% MSIE 8.0
14.00% Firefox 3.0.1

Can't beat the stats Very Happy

EverPhoenix be thy guide.

i use chrome, and i dont use a firewall. i figure firewalls wont stop anyone who really wants in, and its not like i have anything valuable. an anti-virus is a must, and i use avast.

My workplace must have IE 7, then because that's what I use the most.

I use Firefox. The add-ons I have include:

- AdBlock Plus (oh my god I love it so much)
- IE Tab (just in case I have to get on Microsoft's website that lol only allows you to download their shit with IE!)
- Rikaichan and the Japanese-English dictionary
- LJLogin (Livejournal plugin that makes it easy to switch between journal names; since I roleplay on LJ and clone sites, it's stupidly useful to me)
- SomethingAwful Last Read enhancement (so I know what was last read on SA if I'm lurking about. Yes I have an account there, I am a goon.)

I recently had a horrid virus on Vincent (my laptop) in which I had to format since it let a Trojan Dropper on my my machine, but MalwareBytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, SUPERAntiSpyware, and AVG Free 9.0 are my weapons of choice for my computer.

*sigh* If only I had a Mac instead, no viruses for them. Razz
